Thank you. It did come out half decent. Far from perfect, and a mate did offer me £80.00 which Nicola refused as it would translate into minimum wage territory. I think she actually likes it as they had one as kids that thy rode to death.

Nice job on the horse. I just wish i was as fast working as you are. Thanks However, if you look at the speed, or lack of speed of progress on the truck.......... Then you will realise it's not that impressive.

I guess this is a bit of a cheat....... As this is from the tip, recycling tip that is, but it did cost me six pairs of rubberised gloves and a fiver for the wheelbarrow load of stuff excluding the Jerry can, which was going to be turned into a small booze cabinet. But I tossed it back. I went to my friendly local tip this morning to see if I could buy a Cole of 2 ton pallet trucks to sell on at a bit of a profit....... Ooooooopsss, the guy who makes the decisions was not there. So I managed to spend two hours chatting to the guys in the yard and collect some bits I thought were worth having. In fact a wheelbarrow load of wibblepoo. In the end, I left the Jerry can that was going to be a mini bar, behind. Came home and sorted it all out The wood clamps will be handy when I make up the bed wood strips, joining two, strips at a time. The electrical, fuse boxes are part of a future project that Nicola will hopefully like. The little bottle jack up front will be incorporated into a small bearing press I want to build from bits I have around. After cleaning, one German made 5 liters pump up pressure sprayer that will work for applying Gunk Degreaser under the cab and chassis as well as Roundup weed killer to the driveway. Something a bit retro.... Gas heater. May well be for sale. In my job lot of trash there was a 750 watt, 3000rpm bench grinder, Made in Holland. It is to be an ally and stainless steel polisher....... I am going to look for 15 mm inner diameter spindles for it to get the total width down In the pile of bits you may have noticed two, chainsaw motors too......l They have little 35cc Pistons. Which are time consuming to remove, but possibly worth the time. Perfect for a key ring for the garage keys, in case they go missing. Lastly, Nicola went to see her dad this afternoon, he lives only 3 miles from us, so we pop in regularly, and he often pops in for a cuppa tea and to release Ruby, his retired Greyhound who loves to stretch her legs in the back yard. Today he had bought me a very cool high end metal poster for my garage. I love it. So that is the lot for today. Tomorrow it is Bootfair, but I suspect it will be rained out. So time to get up close and personal with the truck, to use the new pressure sprayer.

Today I went back to the scrap yard for the first time in months. It has changed, new ownership, new rules...... Thankfully I can still go inside and look for stuff, as before, funny how respecting the yard, guys and their rules, has paid off. I now have to always wear a hi-viz jacket. Only rule change. They have cleared a load of the tonnage as they one part owner has been bought out and it is now being run much tighter. A couple of weeks ago I saw a really cool mod where someone had fitted some small steel trunks/toolboxes under the bed, behind the cab, where extra fuel tanks would normally be fitted. I found an old BT (British Telecomunication) steel toolbox that should make just the right sized toolbox under the bed. It's very rusty, but a clean up, rust converter and paint should see it ready to be fitted. Price: one kilo of sugar...... Mojo booster.

Been missing out on updating this thread as I keep posting in the truck thread. My Boot fair pickings were slim today, three flags only, 50p each, So they will end up in the USA I did manage to get this all steel kids ride on Fire Tender, never seen one in yellow. Needs a bit of cleaning up and paint needs a buff, but happy at the price I paid. Another ornament to gather dust and fall over in the house. Till we get tired of it an get rid of it. Anyone know these?

So after boot fair today, I came home and did some indoors jobs, then cut all the hedges and shrubs. Nicola was away for the weekend again, and got back before I was done, so I had a break, then carried on to finish the cleaning up. Then I thought I would tackle the clean up of the little yellow Fire Engine. Strip down. Most of the chrome detailing was rusted and not too good, but I managed to polish most back to a decent standard. Polished and painted bits. Then the body, used T-Cut polish rejuvenator to cut back the dead paint after masking the mudguards. Followed by Zymöl Polish. Finaly the reassembly which left us with this so far. Last thing I need to do when I get time is to get back in the woodwork shed and turn a new steering handle. Weekend over.

So following on from the good example set by Grizz I have a good news story to tell today. On the way to drop my kids at school, I noted that a house in the next street has recently been sold and the owner had put a pile of things out next to the bins. My eye was drawn to the large upright compressor. As luck would have it, I normally have to retrace my route back from the school run to work and decided to stop. I knocked on the door. No answer! What now!!! Quick chat with the wife and she suggests dropping a note through the letter flap (after trying to stop me acquiring bits!!). So I scribbled a note saying that I had taken stuff and that if I was not meant to, that the owner should call me and I would return them. I dropped that into the letter box and went to load my car. I decided to grab a few key items and leave it at that. I would almost have taken everything there as very little was rubbish. So what did I get?? - Compressor (untested so far)
- 4 X Makita rechargeable drills and chargers (7 batteries in total, but most/all probably dud). The 3x 18V ones work (tested with one of my batteries), the 14.4v one is still untested. 3 in storage boxes (and I had a spare storage box already)
- 1 X Bosch Jigsaw - handle dismantled so probably not working, in storage box
- MacAllister Tile cutter (probably the mankiest of the items). - Untested so far
- Evolution Rage III chop saw - Tested and working. In better condition than the one I bought new 2 years ago.
All in a very happy day!!! (Sorry, can't get pics working on the IPad)

That's a serious score Craig.
I love the upright compressor.
Not sure they are very common in the UK, but they do take up less space when mounted stationary.

All in a very happy day!!! (Sorry, can't get pics working on the IPad) Seems like there will be a bit of horse trading between myself and Craig at some point..... Upright compressor to be fitted to my replica petrol pump (remember that build?) my small horizontal going his way. And a Makita head unit coming this way, needs a new set of batteries, but got to be cheer than a complete new unit. Forgot to post up this little Hotrod bike I did a few weeks ago. Off Freecycle, and unless it finds a new home, destined for the truck when it is finally completed.

Been a while. With Nicola leaving, and some of the furniture leaving with her, I am looking at replacing stuff as I go along, I also need to find a decent lodger. Last week I went to pick up some bedside units for her that she had bought off Schpock. The house next door had thrown this wardrobe out. Perfect......£200.00 -ish? FREE MONEY. Came home, got the neighbours white van...... Done. It will go perfectly with the pair of bedside units I got for £20.00 at bootfair, had given a scrub with a hose, brush and Cif and a double bed plus mattress off eBay
