I've forgoton one of the steps. Its been a while So... 1 unhook battery 2 reverse connections on coil 3 ** flash a live wire across something a few times ** 4 reconnect battery in reverse Its step 3 I'm wooly on?

I ***think*** that you put the D and F wires on the voltage reg together and flash a live across them and this repolarises the system I'd wait for some one else to say the same before taking my advice tho

Flash a live on the big terminal on the dynamo which re-polarises it round the right way

No wait, maybe it's the small terminal on the dynamo. Damn, you got my brain in a twist now!
Now I think of it you must flash the small terminal because that's the one the dynamo bulb goes through. Because it's round t'other way, when you turn the ignition key on the first time it will blow the bulb, so if you flash it first with a wire it will correct it and won't blow the bulb.
