Pontiac Trans Am GTA. I never really bothered understanding the various models of Third Gen Firebirds, most of them were just window dressing for low spec, low power crappers, with the exception of the TTA (0-60 in 4.5, 140+ top end, oh yes, that would be nice) However I missed a gem. The GTA is more than a trim and spoiler package. With this you get the L98 5.7 small block, WS6 handling package, should have 16" X-spoke alloys and 245 tyres, Positraction diff etc. as well as a special interior and a digital dash This is no anaemic 305TBI... This thing is LOUD and pretty FAST and it made my daughter's best friend cry and run away. AWESOME. I haven't stopped grinning since I got it. I have been banned from buying a teeshirt with REDNECK on it. Right, I'm off to find all the Motley Crue tapes and let the wind blow through my proto-mullet.

Lumbar supports wins the day for me too LOL. Yeah, I prefer the Camaro for looks, but the Pontiac has a "name" and a "heritage" plus i never owned a Pontiac yet, and it has the L98 350 in it.
Yeah, I knew about BMW wheels. I might be tempted if I see some nice 5 spoke style ones in a decent size and price.

Yeah the L98 is a nice spec engine, I want your cam in mine, but only the manual Camaros got the L98 cam, auto's like mine got the 'peanut cam' which is every bit as good as it sounds..
is yours manual or auto? and which interior does it have? apparently the facelift interior is very nice to use but the early 'transformers' style one like mine looks more 'period'..
Where's the silencer? i was wondering about squeezing a small silencer in under there somewhere on mine and removing the one at the back but couldn't find a space where it wouldn't get clouted on every speedbump
MORE PICS!

10mpg - All L98s have the 4 speed OD auto. The 5 speed falls apart fed that much torque. You can have my old cam when I fit a Comp Thumpr or something I assumed yours would be the nicer 305 HO rather than the regular TPI one being as its an IROC? Its pre-facelift, f I get my generations right. It has the fully digital dash and the teddybear hide (tan velour) seating rather than the leather which is standard on the facelift GTA. Quick vid

Personally I think the wheels are full of win, I can't think of any BMW alloys that could trump those in terms of fitting with the whole image of the car!
So is the Olds on to pastures new now?

Personally I don't like film car replicas. I think turning it into a Kitt rep would spoil what is already an incredibly characterful car. Was this purchase the result of our discussions about MPG figures, Akku?! ;D

I've seen that drifting around for a while, seemed a solid purchase Best colour for one of those too TPIs are great engines, respond very well to simple things like a better coil, bigger plug gaps, decent plugs, an ITG panel filter and a free-flowing exhaust system. Don't bother with a bigger throttle body or any of the 'cheap' suggested mods as they tend to be a bit of a joke (things like the throttle body aerofoil for example). The performance intake manifold base and runners are always a great purchase though Even my bone stock L98 auto would do about 26/28 on the motorway and about 15/16 around town, so average was usually at lowest about 20.5. There's a guy on the CCCUK who with a few tweaks gets about 32 on a run from his, and about 25 on average! None too shabby!* *Those are in Corvettes though, which are about 150kg lighter, but I'm sure you'll be able to strike a nice middle ground somewhere if desired with a few tweaks

Ok, it's offical........I don't like you any more!!!!!
Love it as it is, just add stone wash levi 501's, faded tee shirt of chosen 70's glam rock band and a rolled bandanna as headband, add studded belt and gloves with "real" eagles feather earing for the full effect ;D
