Had a knock on the door at about 7pm from an irate woman. Turns out she owns the abandoned garage next to mine. And boy what an unreasonable character she is!
Since I've lived here (a year) the garage next to mine has been unused and unlocked. No-one on the comittee knows who the garage belongs to now as it's changed hands or something. There was a white Mk2 Jag in there and I tried to contact the owner by getting the logbook. Well he came and got the Jag but didn't own the garage, it was just in there as he'd paid up-front for the rent or something so when he heard the bike he had in there was nicked and the car was damaged he came and got it. So it stood empty, unlocked and unused again for the last 3 or 4 months. Anyway, cut a long story short I stuck my flipfront in there while I've been working on mine and after the swapmeet left the spare door and some junk next to it.
So this woman is all *ing and blinding, I'm a liberty taker, her husband is going to come round and knock me out, she's going to fill my garage up with old furniture, get the law on me, she pays her rates etc etc. What's wrong with some people, at least I left my address in there in case anyone needed it moved!

There's no need for her to be agressive - but you were using something that wasn't really yours, even if no-one uses it it's still kinda off to stick stuff in there.
If I came back with a car one day with intent to use my lockup that I hadn't used for a bit I'd be miffed if someone had stashed stuff in it! ;D
But still - she had no right to go at you like that and you'd left appropriate details just in case.

The thing is the garage hadn't been touched for years and since everyone around here is well on the way to 6 feet under I reckoned it must have been some dead guy. The car hadn't moved since 1988 and the owner just hadn't moved it because no-one said anything! I think he'd forgotten about it. Maybe I'll leave her a polite note explaining. The last thing I need is grief while I'm trying to work on mine

I had a run-in with my neighbour earlier over his rat (poodle) curling off brown presents on my terrace.
I left him with 'if it does it again, I'm drop-kicking it into the river.'
Swine.

Someone said I should grass her up to the council for double-letting the garage ;D Good idea! If she then ever complains to them about you working on the cars etc, then it could look as though she's trying to get revenge rather than having reasonable grounds for complaining ;D

Why are people so aggressive, a bit cheeky but the fact you left a note is enough, no wonder communities are dying.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts
