That's a bloody cool find, and I've always loved a bit of comedy signwriting, although this was a pretty early photoshop of mine and wasn't very good, but you get the idea! ;D

Land-Rover's really cool, but the Lada van is even more cool. They must be pretty rare now.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Will it be making an appearance at RCS? ;D
BTW, have you thought of getting some freewheeling front hubs and a Fairey overdrive? These mods would be ideal for one that you want to keep

Land-Rover's really cool, but the Lada van is even more cool. They must be pretty rare now. So rare I couldn't find a picture of one, that one's a photoshop made from an estate model. There are a couple of other mods, I slammed it and those wheels are wider for a start, but yes there were a few van models sold in the USSR as far as I know, but none in the UK unfortunately. Not that you couldn't make one, in a similar fashion to the photoshop there, except in real, steel form instead of as a photoshop! ;D ;D Edited because of an extreme full stop deficit! ;D

Went to fetch it earlier... 1 and a half hours to get to lincoln..... 3 hours to get home again! ;D It's not such a shabby ol' beast. Vague, wooly steering & hopeless brakes as expected, but chugged the 100+ miles back without incident at a steady 60 ( !!) Here's some pics.... Russell takes the helm! And promptly goes steaming off into the distance. Nutter! Back at HQ! Mmmm. Lincoln green with pink bits.... Few bits & bobs to do, but at that price (and with £300++ of spares thrown in) I'll not complain Only downer is that fresh paint. I was gonna strip it back a bit for a more 'patina'd look, but it appears that until recently the whole truck was painted barbie pink!! Yowser!!!! Massive thanks to russ aka impish for the assist!

Jayzus! sub 15-mpg from a B-series! Lunacy!! I think this musta bettered 15mpg on the way home.... put £25 in at lincoln and there's still half a tank left. On the phone to dvla tomorrow to see if I can get a proper number for it... it should be a '68 (F?), but as it was overseas until '77 it finished up on an 'R'. Still get tax exemption, just fancy a proper (black & silver) number
