Well well well.. So another little story from me this time the mojo is flowing big time already  quick scene setter.. Who remembers my B3 thread - the name more importantly andthe style of the B3.. Yogi - the B3 Wagon.. I said at the time, that B3 would be the next popular wagon and from judging how many now, think I was right!! Well since Yogi went to his loving new owner, we've had a void in our lives in the shape of a wagon, we tried to fill tat void in the shape of a B4, 1 VR6 and 1 TDI - both werent to be then along came Tina and she's cool, but still not a wagon - and YES SHE IS STAYING (for now anyway) but made me fall in love with the B2 - had a little flirt with a hatch, but moved it on as couldnt get any vibes from it.. then a for sale advert thats been hanging around for ages suddenly price dropped and I was watching, another price drop.. a few hints later and an offer was made!! So here we go.. Today was D Day - phoned up the insurance, added to the policy - no charge!! Whoop whoop :hyst :hyst arranged a lift to London, had a 3 mile walk then exchanged 10 purple pictures of the queen and set off So here he is.. Going back to Yogi, well wendy loved that car, and the name, so meet BooBoo the B2 - yogi's little friend... :hyst :hyst anyways, enough of the talking - have some pictures!!!!!! Front View Interior Shot - now these seats are comfy, drivers seat a little worn, but the passangers is almost like new! BooBoo getting comfy in the back Pic of the dented bonnet - not sure if you can see them in this picture, but its dented looks like someone at some time may have slid across the front, Dukes of Hazard stylee About the worst panel on the whole car - passanger door.. Anyone wanna have a go at reparing it?? Dink in rear corner - will try and push most of it out, but may fill and paint.. Tiny engine compared to the Slamtana's engine bay nicely lined up side on veiw shot - just perfect for those photoshop rendering - to follow very soon.. :hyst Then the rear.. think I'll loose the arrow - and yes that is a tow bar  Uh ho - open boot Only 1 thing for it... and with the seats down it'll comfy take a huge fat barsteward like me.. Downsides, other than a few dinks Short MOT and even shorter tax. Really bad knocking/graunching noises from rear suspension Loads of animal hairs inside (wendy is allergic) Temperature gauge on dash doesnt work slight wobble on brakes Very heavy clutch pedal BUT.. Drove the 70 miles home without a blip and hardly used any juice - for a good 80%of the journey very easily sat in the outside lane of the motorway no problems.. So whats next!! Well the MOT is due on the 7th - so get it through that, otherwise doa shakedown usage for the next couple of weeks.. and of course photoshop some ideas.. Tina's got a younger, but bigger brother!!!

thanks mate - it is very rough around the edges but for £200 I cant complain one little bit.. As to engine BHP I have no idea, but it cruises well the engine code is DS so if i remember right its the 90 bhp ?

yes, the DS is the 90 BHP engine, the best 4pot in my opinion; I have the same engine in my red hatchback, and it is going very strong and doesn't use that much fuel (40 mpg is possible !) ... it is also funny to see the difference from the german "CL" spec to the UK one; german CL is almost povospec, whereas the chrome roof rack is a GL feature .... so, you just have to source a set of H&R springs and some nice wheels then ;D Ronal LS for example ....

it felt a nice strong engine on the drive home last night, still would prefer the 5 pot.. but who knows what could happen in the future..
Rims, I'm thining of changing the santana's wheels so the BBS RA's woudl go on this - as to springs, i'm going to use the MK2 golf again as they are cheaper and go a little lower - but will get through its mot first..
Main reason for buying was to use a practical vehicle, my daily driver is a B6 Passat 140 TDI saloon and thats getting some nice mods but its not much around the house - gardening etc, hence needing an estate, plus there is a chance i can start doing soem extra weekend work so need a van/estate for that so this ticked all those boxes

So Just watched the Moto GP - prior to that this morning saw me get out the spanner.. lol Wanted to get to the bottom of the noisy noisy noisy rear suspension.. first thing i noticed was the exhaust was hanging down, all rear supports were missing, so a few cable ties for now will do, will try and pick up some rubbers tomorrow! then it was time to get cleaning the inside and sorting the rear.. So a quick look underneath saw.. i don't know if you can see it, but the spring looks far too big, nd the noise was coming from it compressing and rubbing on the body so.. out came the rear carpets (full of dog hairs) Then, dreading the rear springs removal process from the B3 and having to remove all the plastic trim to get to the shocks I consulted the haynes manual and found its much much easier  Speaker cover pops off and hey presto there's the top mount - happy days.. anyways, jacked it up, took off the rear springs and investigated.. Dug out the slamtana original springs to compare, the one on the left is the front spring and the one on the right is the rear spring!! So removal happens and the spring on the left is what is fitted next to a rear spring.. So its obviously at some point had front springs fitted to the rear!! So good job i had the slamtana's original sprinsg handy so fitted them up and now suspension bounces and no noise!! Happy days Whilst they were off, I took the opportunity to meaure them, to try and work out whay MK goof will fit best, anyone know?? Whilst i was at the springs, I whipped out the seats and wendy got busy cleaning them We then moved onto the interior - long dog hair everywhere.. Cleaning the headlining look at it before during - can see how filthy it was I had a little autosol left so tried it on the roof rails and it started to come up, this job will be done now, but no doubt over a long period of time.. I've had a good look round and everything seems ok, so will get it in for an MOT this week and see what happens All i can see so far is i think the thermostat nots working as no temp guage, plus the top hose getting hot and bottom stays cold - Can anyone confirm?? Then a cheeky pic of brother n sister.. all this by lunchtime - just watched the moto gp nd off for a B&Q run now to get some new carpet for the boot as the old one was too dog hair filled!!! Comments welcomed as always

back from the little shopping trip.. popped i a carpet shop on the way and picked up some carpet for the boot area, only need a coupel of pieces, 1.2 x 1.1 mtrs and 2 smaller pieces, but the carpet is sold on the roll at 4mtrs wide so i have 1.5 x 4 mtrs for a grand total of £16.72 .. WIN So eventually back home after going the scenic route i started the carpets using the old ones as a template, but being careful not to get the half a dogs worth of hairs on the new carpet.. they were cut out and fitted not only in the back, but the backs of the rear seats too Nice easy job this one.. Refitting the seats in the B2 is like the rear plastics - so easy!! and the finished result.. A very very simple and cheap mod.. next up to Crazyquiffs tomorrow and get a few bits, i think the therm is playing up, but the fan did kick in so I'm happy, but no movement on the guage.. also de-stickered the rear end and now thats enough for today - knackered.. lol

Temp gauge was boned on my B2 as well, try shorting the wire to earth and see if the gauge goes to max with the overheat light flashing. If it does its probably the sender. Good purchase that man!

that was!! Made sense to me! In laymens terms it translates to 'take it to a garage and grovel that the nice man can fix it cheaply' Kidding. Is that garden hose being used as fuel line there though? looks worrying

do you mean earth from the back of the clocks in the back of the dash or the earth from the sender on the therm or just any earth? ? not sure on garden hose think it is just green fuel pipe but will have to go and have a look now as i had not noticed.
