I have a Ventora in bits in the garage, an Oldsmobile which needs some love as a daily driver and two (count them, two) other old yank cars at my house neither "in service" - although both are currently taxed and one still has some MOT. So tomorrow I'm going to view this.... cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4619466548&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:ITI have no idea why to be honest. Cheap and local seem to be the two obvious reasons. I did have one identical to this on a J plate that I sold about 18 months ago.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

The rationale, or at least the excuse I will use to my wife, is that it can quickly and easily be put back on the road and driven to work etc. instead of the 7 litre Oldsmobile meaning I can save a ton of cash on petrol and have some time to sort out those niggles with the Olds, like the windows not winding down properly and the heather that blows air of random temperature in random directions

Been there, seen it, far too ropey. Nice project, but not a quick turnaround car.

meh, now I'm thinking "ooh, it wouldn't take that long to..." but really its too much work. I did think of buying it for the interiror which really is mint but its not the same pattern as the Ventora interior so maybe best not to.
Still a few days to go on eBay...

Careful, to a woman that is a good reason why you should sell the olds! Thats true! Why not do another Cortina Alistairk? Mk3, or a neat boxy mk4/5 would be sweet IMO.

Though you were looking at a Humber Sceptre/Hillman Hunter Just one thing about that add scares me, it says: "selling on behalf of a friend" This statement has been a serious concern on ebay lately (even mentioned on this forum)

guz - Screverton.
Twincam - The guy also has a Hillman Hunter! Well, two in fact, one of which is a Sceptre. But its just as ropey looking. Unless someones after a mint mint interior for another car I think they'l be disappointed in that Victor at much over £75...
Its worth restoring (the Victor), but a mates told me where theres a solid one with the 2 litre motor, overdrive box, etc. and the guy only wants £100 to get it gone.
I've sold a few cars for mates on eBay. I have 633 feedback and they don't like computers. Seems an obvious way forward to me.
