Suppose I ought to update this really! Seam test: Done: Seams: Really happy with it, but think I'll need to cover the fronts to match, which annoys me as if I knew I'd be doing that I'd have covered the lot in beige fleather... I am so proud of me!!! The upper half was finished, but not fitted, I made the lower half to fit, I'll let the pics speak for themselves! Obviously once glued on and sewed tight on the under side it will look a lot more snug in the final pic. Then finally double seamed the edge from the above pic: Seam pic:

Finished the base, top could do with a bit more tightening... The colour difference is definitely noticeable, but not as bad as first thought. I might try to do the door cards from the harvested leather rather than the new fake stuff to make it look smarter... Same with the gear knob and hand break gaitor. Will defo look far far better than a stock rear bench tho, a glance inside and you'd not see...

Battery fitted in boot... Cut a neat hole in the boot liner so it looks nice and factory. Winner. I hope I get this running and sell it properly. We'll see.

So I've got a few bits to go, all parts are here.... But left to do is:
Windscreen seal inlays Make manifold Adjust filter to fit r6 carbs Fit fuel pump Finish wiring Fit and source final water pipes Few other small bits Cut and shut front suspension and drop it more.
I've also got a rear disc kit to fit and camber shims for the rear.
Getting there! Been a long summer...

Thanks gents!
Measure once, cut twice. That's only the second time I've done any! And the first time was only flat door cards! Not as hard as you'd think.
I'm going to make matching gear gaiter and handbrake to finish it off.

So last night I went into work to start matching the filter base plate to the r6 carbs, they are £25 new so down to the fact I got this one free with my filter I wanted to save myself some cash and simply make a converter plate. So hole saw in the pilar drill, filling, guillotine and drilling at the ready... Scary pants cutting the nice plate up! Plate to fill the hole: Plates finished before prep: And painted white to match the bay: The two will be riveted together, then a foam piece will go in between the carbs and the plate. Winner, one ITG filter worth a total of £110 fitted for the filter price of £85!

Can't support that brown paint i'm afraid, I guess it is meant to be a non-glossy finish but it just looks like the settings were all wrong on the spray gun to me. Seats looks absolutely mega though, what sewing machine did you use?

Just a normal sewing machine. Very probable on the gun, first thing I ever painted, so a massive learning curve. But I like it so who cares! it has a kind of rough finish, I think the compressor wasn't up to the job. But again I could flat it back but I actually kinda like it, hard core. Lol I appreciate some will not like it however. Wheels are going back in for a refurb again due to one cracking, powder coat this time. And this is what I have left to do: Wire battery Fix wires under bonnet Wire washer bottle Paint wiper caps black Cut and shape manifold tubes Weld manifold Fit passenger door seal Fit solid water pipe Match up water pipes Fit plug leads Remove front struts Remove 65mm from struts Buy dampers and springs Refit suspension Rebuild front callipers Fit front brakes Bleed brakes Check all bolts tight Fit r6 fuel pump Wire r6 pump Drill out carbs to 1.5mm Bolts on roof trim Get new bonnet release handle Fire it up!!

Seats looks absolutely mega though, what sewing machine did you use? Exact same for me - don't like the colour or the finish, I'm not sure if it's orange peel or an actual satin finish? Looks like the first bits I sprayed in celly a few years ago, I found it hard to get a "wet" coat. The seats look bloody ace though, really really good.

It's satin finish, that was what I wanted.
(Edit: you do realise i did the spray job myself, on my drive, in a gazebo?! Pmsl!)
