It seems Mr Burroughs has been busy building this: It might not seem amazing at a glance, but there's a lot of work gone into it. More photos are here. And a brill video with loads of info is here. Worth a watch just for the sound this car makes. Also check out the other AWOL videos on that site, the production is brilliant.

My summary - The engine and suspension work are amazing. The wheels are a nice but I feel they seem to be have been used more because they're Benz rims rather than that they're the best looking rims to fit. The side skirts are vomit inducing.

As usual he's got it spot on. I don't care what anyone says, in my eyes whatever he produces just looks the part.

Impressive, not a huge fan of the side skirts either.

I love that it's not just stance for the sake of stance - the fact that they developed bespoke suspension to allow them to exploit the power of the E46 M3 engine proves that they mean business.

to be quite honest? i don't like it. granted theres some thought gone into parts of it, but then other parts just look stupid and ill concieved. the front-to-rear wheel fitments are waaay out. it needed the rear arches raising or something to work, as the relationship between tyres size/stetch/poke/arch fitment fornt to rear is like two totally different cars. the rear is very agressive, front not so, it looks really disjointed, like its got 18s on the fornt and 15s on the back (yeah i know they're both 17s....). cant help but feel they're only on there for bragging rights. and the less said about e36 m3 skirts the better

apart from suspension mods, BMW built this car, mike borrows just added the wheels, and plonked a bigger block in
I'm not that impressed, and after hearing on the vid that it took 3 years to put the wiring in - I'm not at all impressed

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

Where's the rust and dripping copper paint? Oh, oh, oh, and the tie wraps and the roof rack and the cooler hauler?

When I saw this I was glad that he'd built a car where the effort put into purpose & performance matched that given to the 'look'. Whilst I've largely enjoyed his previous creations to me they'd been largely 'looks-based'. I was also pleased that he hadn't gone with a lot of the cosmetics with which he'd become synonymous (rack & rust) and had clearly thought through how the stance could be achieved without compromising ride & handling (and actually improved it if interview is accurate - looks good on the road). Has this stopped the negative comments normally aimed at Mike Burroughs work? Disappointingly not. I'm no fan boi but I've liked his work in the past and most of what he gets flamed for can't really be aimed at this one, yet the flaming still comes.. I'm sure when he said the wiring took 3 years he didn't mean someone did a 40hr working week, 48 weeks a year for 3 years to get it working. I've been building a supercharged Manta for 4 years but I haven't even touched it for the last 3.. The engine swap is also awesome and sounds fukcing mental! So what do we have? A dull late model improved with the benefits of a more modern, more powerful engine, with some tidy rims added (not to everyones taste, but that's how taste works) and some one-off suspension components thought out to give a pretty aggressive stance but still drive & handle well. What is it we're all about again? Ok he hasn't started with a Retro but the treatment is what we do surely? HC. ps. I agree with Des about the difference front-to-rear. Given that he can adjust the ride height I guess that could be sorted out (less aggressive at the rear imo). And yes, the skirts look w4nk but I guess he likes them.. pps. The production & camera work on that video is fantastic. Really top notch.
