Only in Tulsa so they say... Buried '57 Belvedere, gives me the freaks thinking what this thing is going to look like and worse, smell like when it gets unearthed next year. You can just imagine them finding one of the original concrete workers decayed bodies trapped inside, the headlights fire up and a smokey death rattle emits as it rolls into the sunlight... Or maybe that's just me Anyway, got me thinking, what car would you put in a time capsule for fifty years? Imagine in 2057, retro-riders from around the world gather at the front of Hotwires house, now a museum of course... The man himself residing in a top secret bunker. To excavate what? What sums us up? New or old? www.forwardlook.net/19571958Plymouth/countdown.asp

"The lucky person who in 1957 correctly guessed what Tulsa, Oklahoma's population would be in 2007 is destined to win the brand-new 1957 Belvedere Sport Coupe sealed in a time capsule beneath Tulsa's courthouse" Would they still be alive I wonder?! Love to see what they do to trace the winner of the car... As for what car to bury... are we talking a brand-spanker here or a retro? If it's a retro I reckon it should just be left as an empty chamber with a little post-it note: "Took it for a spin...back later.". I think most of us forummers would want to see retro motors on the road being used and abused than buried for 50 years

I'm planning a trip over to Tulsarama '07. Been fascinated by this story for years. I want to see that car come out.

what car to Bury? The PT cruiser. Not one, but all the F%&8ers. Especially the diesel ones. And the owners.

As an aside, I was a passenger in one the other week for a couple of hundred miles. Four people with baggage and we had to bin one of the rear seats, it was underpowered and incredibly thirsty. I remember when they were launched looking at Chryslers website/brochure/press release (can't remember) and reading that the rear shelf was not to be used as a seat, and you shouldn't drive along with the rear hatch open and people sat on the rear shelf. I guess that's just Chrysler knowing their audience...

If we're burying cars and their owners lets bury all the BMW 4x4's, their owners are all road bully curse word with no exceptions. This is why my Willys is going to have big ironium push bars and no shiny paint. When they try and bully their way through they will get a taste of some serious SVA failure rusty steelwork down the side Back on topic (and rant over) I'd probably bury a fully prepped Lotus Cortina for when the petrol runs out. I like the scene in Demolition Man when they have the red Charger (?) in the museum and he uses it to catch the bad guys. Imagine doing the same in that. Stupid dream, wake up Jonny

Thinking of this Plymouth - I wouldn't want to be anywhere hear there when it's released as after 50 years don there it's going to be very curse word off ;D

Just realised that I didn't suggest my own burial candidate, so I'd like to bury a Honda Element. The only modern vehicle I'd consider buying. ;D
