What does it say on the casing? Eg if it's 'stanpart', then it's Triumph, 'Mowog' is BMC etc

on the one with od (same but different tail caseing). n/s tail - HDA2 63730 o/s box - U 1981060 5DA 21055 22 1 71 then theres a tag on the od bit saying laycock de normanvsomething D Type Overdrive serial number 85/61958/051678 ta.

then theres a tag on the od bit saying laycock de normanvsomething D Type Overdrive That's Laycock De Normanville, which is the make of overdrive & was fitted to lots of cars. So it's just the numbers - nothing else? The '21 1 71' looks like a date, but beyond that I haven't got a clue

aparantly the humbre sceptre is the same as a hunter (gearbox wise), i reckon it'll be those. cheers,

I think Sceptres all had O/D as standard... 'Arrow' range cars (Hunter and derivatives) with the inclined engine have a different bellhousing and input shaft to the earlier cars, AFAIK...
