I once had a conversation with a copper after he attended a crime I reported. He said basically nothign was going to happen. I said somethig a long the lines of "good job I didn't catch thm at it or they'd be in the hospital now" and straight up he said to me, "Don't ever put a criminal in hospital. If you're going to do it, do it properly. All the way or not at all. You'd be doing us a favour really. Dump the body somewhere round <place name deleted> and even if they get found the polution round there will ruin the forensics. Your chances of getting caught are very slim anyway." Kinda chilling advice. I only asked for advice on what to about a small dent/scratch! I don't want to kill anybody. Bloody hell.

Ahh but its all useful to know, you never know what you might have to do in the future, and if you ever need to dispose of a body, alistairk knows where to dump it - everyone should have his number on speed dial just in case!

would it be worth having a word with the sweeper driver on his next round? he may have not realised hed damaged your motor, as i imagine those things are rather noisy, thus not reporting any accident?

snotty letter to street cleansing/neighbourhood services department with your local authority, mention that all correspondance will also be copied and forwarded to your counciller and local newspapers, i work for a local authority and find this usually works. get back on the phone and get the names of the heads of these departments, address your letters to them rather that the deparment in general, make sure you mention its a cherished, classic car and your shabby treatment over the phone, the driver shouldn't get in much trouble but don't leave it unpursued.

Employ a private detective to photograph the roadsweepers in action the next time they come down the street. Get him to take a load of pictures of the driver of the vehicle then use the latest digital enhancement techniques to produce a clear image of the drivers face. Make a ‘wanted’ poster and post it at the council depot with an anonymous ‘pay as you talk’ mobile phone number for anyone who can identify him. Offer a reward of up to £2m for his capture. If someone gives you his name and address you’ll have to kill them of course and dispose of their body – dump it on wasteland or dissolve it in an acid bath. (Otherwise they’ll demand the £2m that you promised). If you just get a name look him up on the electoral roll to find his address. When you have his address, go to the Ukraine or other region close to Russia and do a cash deal with someone on a woolly hat to acquire some decommissioned Russian army non-conventional weaponry – Nuclear or Chemical will be entirely adequate. Simply deploy the weaponry in his street at about 8pm while he is relaxing in front of the TV.
Clearly there will be one or two innocent victims but that’s whats simply known as ‘collateral damage’ and in view of your circumstances its fair to say that the risk of this balances adequately with the severity of the violation which you have suffered. JUSTICE!

Honestly, this sort of behaviou just boils my P**s! Just who the feck do these council people think they are! IMHO you'd be well within your rights to get more than just even. Obtaining a high velocity rifle isn't as hard as it used to be (hint, go to ebay and type in "high velocity rifle"). You should then make your way to the nearest tower block that overlooks the council yard, get as high as you can, the roof is probably best, and proceed to pop off council employees as they make their way too/from work.
My "contact" in the police told me (hush hush of course) that provided you keep the body count below triple figures and avoid actions that make you look in any way like a terrorist (wearing a beard, shouting Allah Ackbah! as you shoot, or being at all vaugley Asian in appearance) then investigating this sort of crime is just not worth their while, especially with so many people speeding and committing other really dangerous crimes.
If you plan your escape route well you should be able to leave the council yard awash with blood and ringing with the cries of the wounded and still be home in time for tea.

ScrapingScrap: This thread was about a scratched wing on a car wasn't it? ...or was it about how to 'remove' certain 'scum' from our society? ;D ;D ;D amounts to the same thing. This is retro-rides. and that is how "the gov", Jack Reagan would have dealt with it back in the 70's. "You are 'out of order' you slag, somone ought to give you a 'slap'" Solved many a problem the old back of the hand.

Some curse word dented my car in a parking lot once. Refused to pay, was all bitchy and all. Police did didely-curse word, as usual. But she payed up after me and some friends had a chat with her, and the possibility of having an "accident" in traffic some time, due to non-functioning brakes But on the other hand, some lady bumped into another car, another time in a parking lot, but she left a note with phone number, called her, we sorted it out, fair play. There are nice people and curse word in this world, just have to know how to deal with em And the morale is: Wimen don't know how to park! ;D Just messing ladies

Saw the (minor) damage myself this weekend, sad but not too sure that it justified some of the retribution mentioned above!
