Looks awesome, however welded in springs sounds dodgy as curse word can't imagine an MOT tester is gonna like it.

The weld will crack probably. I usually wire them in and never had a problem with anything breaking.

yeah i wondered aobut that but a guy at college said he always did it with his car aslong as its just the tip of the coil its usually alright - checked mine this morning and they were still there with no bends or cracks - probably because its sitting on bumps and the springs arent doing much

Agree, I think yellow or white would be a better match. But you are that man that will be spraying the paint

I'm not really feeling that I'm afraid, but then its not my car Red seems to be a hard colour to put coloured wheels with, most combos look fairly off at least to my eyes! If you are going to keep the colour, Id stick to just the wheels if it was me.... I find that too much colour co-ordination with colours like those leaves the car looking at bit 'kids toy' like.

Red and purple are difficult to get to go together perfectly, other colours are easier to make work. However, if you like it then you should go for it. Had a play on Photoshop for you. I'm not sure on the door mirrors, they don't look great in purple and look better just black. Had a play about with other colours. Rear lights would be tinted Scirroco fashion with thin lines of paint in the respective colour. As far as I'm aware this is legal. EDITED TO ADD: As Colonelelk points out, you might end up in kids toy territory... but that could be fun if you ran with it.

I'm still undecided - the shops are epic volksangyl, like the first one but i agree it does get into toy car look - never thought of that really but now you mention it.. think ill have a play with other colours or just leave it on the wheels and have them detailed.. hmm thrasher its a small world haha - don't think i was there when it was delivered though

hmmm not many of you are feeling the purple - fair enough its very hard to get a colour that goes well with red.. if it was blue - orange would be a doddle to pull off for example, ill see what the other wheels look like done in white thanks for the heads up on never-lift maxlee, ive signed up - gonna have a lurk tonight (this morning )

purple wheels ok for a laugh but i think purple grille etc would be too much with that fairly dark/strong shade of red

not done anything to this recently I'm afraid mot ran out and got an estimate of 480 quid from the volvo dealer.. so ended upbuying another.. then mounting a verge in that "new one" didnt have the tie to fix it due to college, although its almost back to how it shouldbe, just need a new engine support beam . so another one was bought. here is the car that started it all, with its new friend: the difference a drop makes to the looks of the car, I know what one i'd rather drive this will however be getting attention very soon. which includes a bucket seat, harnesses and a drift wheel that I am getting as part of the deal for my brown (number 2 - coincidence? ) and will be getting put back on the road. also planing on putting 15s on with 195/50s onto it which will give me a further 10mm drop and more room between top of front wheel tubs. so it all works out really
