Hello all. I've just bought this: I want to be free this summer, so £100 on ebay last night and its home today . It came with a brand new front light and a top box, so i fitted the light when i got back (took me an hour and a half >_<) and also removed the mirror bar thing (someone had sawed the mirrors off). It also came with a brand new seat cover, so that will be fitted in due course as well ;D Hope you like

Nice, these have great potential just look at the japanese stuff thats out there, its about as close as you can get to a scooter while still being pretty cool. Only if you have dixie horns however.

Well, seeing as all 50cc's are limited to 30, most saying this goes 25, I'm not worried. 25 is faster than walking to town every day I want to mod this scooter, but i need to get it working first (brakes are seized). I'd like some new wheels or something, but i don't know what will fit.

Well, lots of fun (frustration) has just been had. God up there, hooked it up to a 12v car battery, it turned over fine, everything works bar the headlight >_<. But... it wouldnt fire. I spent ages trying to get it to fire, so my dad told me to check if it was sparking, which it was. So he cleaned the plug, put it back in and it still wouldnt go. So.. he cleaned it again, really thoroughly, and eventually it coughed into life ;D So now I know what it feels like for you lot when you've spent 2 hours trying to get something to start and when it finally does, the feeling is exstatic . Now I need to get the ruddy light working (the bulb is fine) And check if the exhaust is blowing (smoke was coming up via the side as well as from the pipe). Anyway, you wont find all that very interesting, but I thought you needed filling in .

Right, i need insurance, which is only third party, will be £150. CBT (Compulsory Basic Traning) is about £90, Then tax and MOT is about £45-£55 combined. I still need a battery... which is about £20, tyres are suspect, and new ones are about £20 each, So i need to spend another £335 or so, which i don't have >_<. On another note, i got it going, put a car battery on the floor, and took it for a spin, love it

Always had a soft spot for these as a mate had one when we were kids, loads of fun had on that. Panels slowly got striped to make it lighter and faster. I think it's the one that has the same aircooled motor as my boys qr50, pretty much unbreakable. Just add oil

I pulled one of those of a scrapheap as a doner for a gokart project.
It had been there for about 2 years, I took the engine off and stuck it in the vice and wired it up.
It started almost first turn!
You cant change the wheels as the rear wheel hub also acts as the brake drum.
Just think of the money you'll save. It used to cost me two quid a week in petrol to run my Vision.

Its no worry really, where theres a will, theres a way, but i wont be changing anything for a while . Need it on the road first! £2 a week? sounds brilliant , bus is £1.20 one way just to town.

Haha, as i said, £1.20 for just one way, would cost me £12 a week or so. I'm not worried about it "being slow", it takes me over an hour and a half to walk to town from here, and a moped will chop that time down significantly. If i did walk, i'd have to leave at some silly time just to get to college everyday.

Right, its almost there. The front brake cable has oil soaking into it, and i spent the day making the fecking electrics work. The indicator bullet connection kept falling out, so i had to make that stay in, and the lamp needed a wire replaced. Took me forever to find out which one >_<. Heres a vid of it running, proving it all works

Hello, Its coming along slowly. I spent today doing a myriad of things. I removed the wheels, found that the back tyre is alright so that went back on. I also cleaned the exhaust, the grime on it (which was a mixture of mud, oil and grease i'd assume) was horrendous. It ruined the scourer . I then painted it with high temp silver, its looking good I also painted the air intake with the same stuff. I touched up some of the scrapes with some flame red I had lying around, looks somewhat better! All thats left to do is fit a new brake lever, change the front tyre, fit some new suspension gaiters (anyone know where to get these?), change the seat cover and then that should be it . Put it all back together after all that and its MOT ready. I cant find the suspension gaiters, by these I mean the rubber/plastic bits that go on the end of the forks, searched for ages last night and couldnt find any. Any ideas?

Another thing thats missing is a seat lock, and on its last fail sheet it failed because the seat didnt lock >_<.
I cant find one of them either.
