Once I got the engine going again there was a leak from the top hose which no amount of clip tightening would solve, on closer inspection I found this......... I had to take the bloody A/C pump off to get at it The stat housing is made of steel so I cut the bad bit off and welded a bit of stainless tube. I forgot to take a pic of it finished (duhh) but you get the idea.

Once the repairs were welded in, I added a bit of retro filler. Brush, tinning flux, grade D lead, bit of hardwood and a blow lamp. First the clean steel is painted with the flux which contains hydrochloric acid to etch the surface. When heated the lead in the flux becomes liquid and has to be quickly wiped away leaving a tinned area for the lead filler to stick to. tinned......... Leaded (not sanded yet) O/S door

AR$E! how the hell did that happen? never mind though I know from experience that galss can be a pain to ship but if it's packed right it's not 'to' much bother, and at least it's just a case of find the cheapest supplier and get it shipped not hunting for some elusive mechanical trim part for year after year.. chin up old bean... the cars coming along lovely otherwise!

Ah man...... That sucks!!!! But you're hardcore enough to pick yourself up again, don't let it beat you!!!
Don't know if it's any help, but the backwindow partnumber is DB03342 (ad CLN for clear or GTN for a green tint)...

AR$E! how the hell did that happen? There was so much rust in the lip that it had pushed the window out about 1/4" so the whole thing was under uneven stress, I disturbed it whilst removing some of the wibblepoo and it spat it's dummy out once my back was turned Don't know if it's any help, but the backwindow partnumber is DB03342 (ad CLN for clear or GTN for a green tint)... Shiva That's a great help thanks BTW how the hell did you know that?

Ahh man, that blows goats a hidden problem / weakness in the glass d'ya reckon? If so it's probably better it showed itself now, rather than after it's in shiny paint & hopping! Also - lead, wow! Mad skills dude, don't see that done much! Proper job ;D

Epic fabrication skills there mate. Bad news on the screen but at least theres a good chance you can get a replacement.

I'm not completely useless, I can be used as a bad example.
