Does anybody on this site have a pre-war car? I 've always thought about having an Austin 7 Ruby or Morris 8. Prices are actually cheaper than a lot of postwar classics and availability of said vehicles is rather good. (Plus Spares for the '7' is amazing and cheep) Also for the 'modifiers' amongst us there was plenty on offer for them Austin Se7en'S. Just a thought.

What IS the oldest car on the forum!? Anyone gonna stake their claim? I assume that we would discount '32 Fords etc. built up from kits as they're not really old..

NickB:
That's my point.
The Austin Seven must be one of the most 'modified' British pre war cars ever. It was also for basis/roots of the Lotus Seven (and it's many brothers) that we know today.

The Austin Seven must be one of the most 'modified' British pre war cars ever. The next most modded pre war cars probably being Rileys. This one isn't actually mine (it's dad's) but I'll end up doing quite a lot of work on it.... With the doors propped in place What it should look like: What it could look like: Plan A Plan B :-)

I love pre-war cars! ;D An Austin Seven would be wonderful. A good mate of mine has just bought one to play with - a racer. It's probably gonna have 30 bhp when he's done! My ultimate would be an Alta or, better still, an Alfa 8C or 12C . I don't have photos to hand. Rileys and the like fascinate me too. Great engineering! I don't think my 1966 Singer Chamois counts, does it? Paul H, those pictures of your dad's Riley were ace! That would be a lovely ride. I'm
