Somthing a bit different for you.... my Sims Racing Single Scull... is Retro by boat standards... it still uses wood and canvas. This is one of the last of this type made by Sims and uses a carbon kevlay hull of a type fitted to later boats.
Have had this for ages. However this year age and use have finally caugt up with it....
First the problems
Saggy canvas with holes... not good
Broken shoulder (a special type of rib) support.
Progress:
Removed the canvasses.... to uncover the lattice and a few broken stays... no too bad. A bit of glue and some tape 'll fix that
And onto the shoulder....
Remove the rigger bolts (with much hammering)....
and the broken plate drops off!!! That should be bonded to the shoulder..... hmmmmm....
Plans are to make a repair plate for the shoulder, to re-canvas the bow and stern and repair a few other odd bits.
