Some inspiration for you from MG-Rover.org forum: ![](http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss37/roverdan/25%20respray/DSC_0038.jpg) ![](http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss37/roverdan/25%20respray/DSC_0040.jpg) Comes from this thread: www.forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=317733Shame about dodgy paintjob on the wheels but i really like it. The 25/200 is a really similar shape to the Seat Leon so it might be worth finding some pics of any decent modded ones. Ignore the haters, i've got a 5dr rover 25 GTI VVC and its a very capable car that can suprise a few people. I remember EVO magazine rating the 25 GTI higher than the MG ZR160! Having said that the dashboard is pretty awful, the boot latch mechs always seize, the pipe for the rear washer is normally broken....but thats all part of the fun ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Ignore the Rover haters, I had a 25 1.4(same engine, differnent management) for a few months and it wasn't too bad to drive if I am honest! The wheel PCD is 4x100 so the same as golfs etc which means you have quite a large amount of wheels to choose from. Get yourself the suspension from a MG ZR160, the front brakes and rear beam/brakes, and possibly the steering rack as well. With just those few little mods the car will stop and handle very happily. If you are after a bit more power without wanting the hassle of an engine change then get a pair of VVC exhaust cams for it which should give you a few more horses, along with a decent exhaust system and air filter/tb, you should see 120 bhp quite easily.
Good luck though, they are worth the time and effort which you put in and as long as you don't rag the engine from cold then your head gasket should be fine.

Thanks for the offer mate, but since seeing one in black again I think I actually prefer them being colour coded. I just need to get mine sprayed to match the paint properly ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

these are good little buys i think as they can be purchased for pennies and rover have always had that comfort factor pretty nailed. had an 820 very smooth ride "the poor mans jag"
unfortunatley the wheels just don't do it for me and lame the look of an already dated car. As with most modern cars the wheel arches are rather large and a bigger wheel is needed. just my opinion. good luck with the project.

I used to work at a rover garage and drove these things about all day long. Great fun! The MG's really show how much potential they have got, but pick of the bunch for me was the Rover 25 Turbo Diesel. WHOOOOP TISSHHHHHHH! Very rapid, shame the susspention couldnt quite keep up with it!lol

What is that I see through the window?! ![](http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs249.snc1/9618_140348690813_576910813_2642179_1290205_n.jpg) Oh my... ![](http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs269.snc1/9618_140348670813_576910813_2642176_5472329_n.jpg) ![](http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs249.snc1/9618_140348685813_576910813_2642178_7578243_n.jpg) This is my uber budget system.. cheap Mutant XXX subs, running on a Mutant 800.1 monoblock at 2ohms, getting 275wrms per sub.. I cant remember how big the box is... I left my brother to make it to fit the boot.. next time i'll work with sizes and go ported. I think each sub has about 3 to 3.5cuft. Its loud and boomy and does well on the bottom end, but isn't loud enough for me. In other news.. it failed MOT on exhaust and some lightbulbs, but its all sorted now and I have a 12 month ticket ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

like the sub install you might find 12 inch subs are better for volume than 15 or 18 .

Like it, think the wheels work well and shall look better still when more cosy in the arch. Nearly went for one of these instead of the golf 3 but felt they was a tad small inside for the whole fam and kit we seem to lug around on a daily basis. Now get tested and slam.

I Like this, am a closet Rover fan, Ma Mum always had rovers, until i converted her to VW! lol My first car was a 1998 Civic Aerodeck which I'm pritty sure is bascally the same as the Rover 200/400 but an estate! Cracking Cars! Love the wheels, love the Subs, get it dropped though! Then call it job done! don't wanna spend too much time on it when you could be driving it!
Oh and that Hater from the start, how Shonkey is that Passat? I dunno! Its always good to re start the "is it retro" debate, if its unusual, and you love it then its retro! End of!

Hey guys back again! Didn't make a thread, but I passed my test earlier this month so I am now ON THE ROAD! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Because I have got some film equipment for the holidays courtesy of my lovely university, I thought I would test out mounting a camera in the car and getting some video. More interesting videos to come soon I guess..

car looks great, one little mod that makes a huge difference is taking the black tape of the door pillars, underneath is colour coded the same as the car! have had 4 rover 200's and took them off on all of mine, definitley sets the car off better ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)
