I like these, they're decent to drive and pretty hardy.
I had a 220Di for a while and that went like stink, looks like you have the 'full fat' 1.4 so that too should go well.

So underrated, we too had a 220Di for a while, amazing cars, AFAIK they used the Peugeot 1.9 TDi unit?

The 1.4 can be made quite snappy with the throttle body off a T seires engine, with the idle control curse word chopped off its a simple mod for a bit more grunt.  And Lotus spark Plug Covers are a direct fit ;D Rich |

I need to pass my test and it still needed money and time spent on it so ive had to cut my losses and get another car. Now I have this car that works ive lost interest in the Golf so I'm just parting it out and scrapping the shell or selling the shell if anyone wants a project.

Yeah that is the sort of look I'm thinking of... but who knows what direction I may take! Shout out to elpassata for being rude in my thread, whoever you are. Not many Rovers modified tastefully or that would appeal to perhaps the average user on here or perhaps E38 etc, its only a little budget car and don't have the money currently for fancy bits but I'm excited for its future and what bargains i may come across to help improve her |

That looks like a sweet little run-about i've been in one that was driven in force lol and they are surprisingly good in most respects, but..... but hmmm I think it's too new. Or too normal, or something Or maybe it's because most i've seen were bright yellow with bins hanging off the back lol. Fake dumpvalves etc.. Modifying one seems kind of wrong lol. Please make a proper job of this one |
