Finally i've got something done, i've been too busy enjoying the car get anything done ;D I've put new jbl gto 6x9 speakers in the rear deck, and a used jbl cs amp in the trunk. The amp will be camouflaged in a suitcase or old emergency bag or something like that, and the cables will be changed for something less extreme. The speakers were supposed to sit under these But I modified the speaker covers wich were in the car when I bought it. They look alot more funky. (yes I know one mesh is not in place ;D ) another pic Here's the next problem... Looks very ugly, doesn't fit the car, and I don't like the way it doesn't want to show the name of the song ;D Not sure what to do about it yet though. A period stereo hooked up to a mp3 stereo in the glove box would be cool, but I like to see the name of the song and change tracks easily. I also changed plugs, I think it runs a bit lean, and I have a bit of oil in at least the one to the left? Then on to the main event! Exhaust! I really like the way it turned out, altough I almost regret not getting half an inch bigger pipes. These are 3 1/4" Not sure if i'm to polish them or leave 'em "raw" I kinda like the "unfinished" look. They're also dirty in the pics, they look better clean. It's not done though, I guess I need to weld some proper supports for them... ... (i'm also aware that I really should change that brake line) That's it, hope you don't have to wait as long for the next update ;D

I found this at a flea market for 3,50, perfect for my purpose Made a hole for the cables, and added fake patina with a knife and sandpaper A perfect fit. I also added some black duct tape to the gash red wires. I'm very pleased with the end reslut, i even have a key to it ;D I just need to secure it with some screws and change the wires to some longer more subtle looking ones, and wire them better, right now they're a mess.

Nice work!
You might want to put a pc fan in the back of that case though that turns on with the amp as they can get pretty hot.

That might be a good idea, i think i've seen tiny ones somewhere. Altough it only powers two 6x9's and not at too high power for too long. But it wouldn't hurt anyway.

I think my housemates must be able to hear me listening to that at full whack and then giggling like a schoolgirl.
Outstandingly good noise.

That is a mighty fine automobile, dude. (Not trying to be cool - that is your forum name.) Your planned mods sound good too. If you're not getting through petrol fast enough, you must fit a dual 4-barrel inlet manifold FTW. That'll see you into the single digit MPG. I love Yank muscle. Simple, brutal, noisy, brash. Fan-tastic! Paul

Thanks mate, it already got a 4 barrel carb and, obviously, intake ;D I've been contemplating some small upgrades to get the power a bit higher in the powerband, right now it's rather flat after 4k. I wouldn't want to do the old holley mistake as i've got a really well working rochester on it right now. I've been searching for some better heads and a cam kit, although i'm a bit poor for that right now. I've also heard about a 396 some guy is selling in pieces cheap with new pistons, it needs a rebuild kit and a rebore.

Absolutely, i'm starting to like the slotmags/cragar combo more and more, although i'd like some 15" to fill up the front wheelarches better, and get it a tad lower all around.
