Nelly ;D ;D ;D A very white Volvo 740 GL estate Catalyser ;D She's been stood since middle of last year and the elderly owner is now moving to Oz so needed shot A friend rang me yesterday so I went and took a gander today and it is now booked for MOT Monday morning. Not driven it or even had it running due to lack of battery but it looks in really good nick and the chap is very confident as he has had it for a long time and knows it. So we will get there early Monday with a can of petrol and a battery and crossed fingers Sooooo... inspiration? or get shot of it quick? Anyone want an astra MK2?

If it's a 2.3 manual (4+o/d or 5 speed) & in good condition, then I'd say keep it. Btw, haven't seen a facelift 740 for a long time

Possibly the best car available today in terms of usability, reliability, build quality, value for money and ruggedness.
A can of back to black and some polish and it will look great.

Lol.. works well on your bumpers and is a darn sight cheaper than back to black especially if you have a fetish for cricket bats too!

thats ace Anyway an update Had MOT booked for 11.30 so we allowed an hour to fire it up! FAIL!!! ended up towing it to the MOT with my Astra (again it shows it's a great car ready for anything). Chucked it up on the ramp and one of the guys had a quick play and decided on a naf fuel pump. Towed it home and dropped the pump, put jump leads across it and it showered me with petrol? Put it back on and will only fire for a few seconds then stops, not enough to pressurise the injection system and get the car going? Upshot is we have now installed a lead from the coil to the pump so the pump runs all the time, car now drives woot . It is now back down the station awaiting a belated MOT!
