How about pulling the red pinstriping above the roofline? I think the grille would need to be blacked out too.
Other than that, option 3 is also getting my vote.

Cheers guys! :-) I'll have a go at a few more later and try to incorporate your ideas! its that pesky plate again hee hee. ;D It's quite an old photo, so unfortunately the letters have had to be repainted a bit since :-( However, it still looks like it's been chewed up and spat out though ;D Paul, how about doing the whole bonnet black,.. and running the red along the edge of the scallop on the flank? Loving the deep steels btw That will be one of the next ones - these should have had the red edging to all the scallops & I'll add them later. I wish it really had those steels! However, these are available in the correct pcd, which has got me thinking as I've never seen them on a Volvo ;D

you need those wheels paul, now. ;D super shiney black with polished outlines, would look great with the "worn"* appearance of the amazon. *no offence intended with the use of this word. ;D

Would love to see an Amazon rolling on BRMs,.. of course if you can fit Beetle wheels there is a huge choice,.. but BRMs are such a cliched VW wheel it would be ace to see them on something else

BRMs are such a cliched VW wheel it would be ace to see them on something else That's exactly what I was thinking!! As for the fitting, the diameter is the same, the PCD matches (available in 5 x 112) and they are only 1" wider than my current steels. However, I've no idea about the centre bore, or wheel nuts though, and If they don't fit or the offset causes problems, I don't want to find out the expensive way.... The BRMs won't change the stance much either, as they are the same diameter, and although wider tyres would be required, the rolling radius needs to stay the same (ie no low profiles) otherwise they will look far too small. However, I'll add them to one of the photoshopped pics ;D
