OK random question. Whenever I'm at my mates house, his daughter has MTV on. There's a video at the moment, typical glossy superslick US Rap one, by Ciara. There's a car in it (hence my interest!). It's a "typical" 80s yank saloon I'd say, two door, vertical rear window with fat rear pillar, typically overlong front/rear overhangs. What is it? Anyone know? It's like this, sort of: Quite similar I think, but on the one in the video the grille sort of extends down and flows horizontally into the bumper for a couple of inches... Oh, pics of other 80s american saloonery are more than welcome - so long as you tell me what they are! I have HUGE gaps in my US-car knowledge...

Bread and butter US cars are really difficult aren't they? Combine annual changes with multiple versions built of the same basic body and it's a recipe for confusion!
Haven't seen the video you refer to (fortunately my daughter too young for MTV etc and I'm too much of an old git), but is the car you posted some sort of early 80's GM? Just thinking it reminds me of a NASCAR Buick I built years ago.

Grand Prix: Again, like that but the grille is different. Four rectangular lamps, but the grille is less vertical, made up of vertical strips, and the bottom couple of inches slope into the front bumper...

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Buick Gran National, Oldsmobile Cutlass, Chevrolet Monte Carlo... All good in a pimpin' way, the Gran National is quick too... Buick Gran National Buick Regal '76 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (earlier shape) '81 Olds Cutlass... Can you tell how it's different from all the others? It must be the bumpers, cunning eh?

Mainly baby V8s, but they also came with sixes I believe... Being a 'compact' of course, i once heard an American question why anybody would want to modify one when it's a 'Grandma car'...
My Gran drove a Volvo 122S. Way cooler...

I think they look great with the white tyre lettering, slightly too-high stance and acres of blue/beige/red/brown/orange velour inside

V6 turbo seems to be the one to go for, there's dozens of Americans whacking the boost up on these things and rocketing down the 1/4.
