Lets see if there are enough people on here to give this thread a life of its own. One pic or more, of the reason you keep playing with older cars. My pic came via Michael from Germany who took it this weekend when we got to Santa Pod, after Oldbus rescued us on the road, 5 miles short of making it. This pic says it all to me.

Best photo of my car ever! Taken by a rally photographer at the 2007 South Australian Khanacross Championships, at night with the front wheels in the air. Old VWs don't die, they just go harder!

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

Loads of grief at first, too many engine rebuilds to count, probably spent way too much on it but meh... you end up with pics like these:

Becuase of the amount of Blood, Sweat and tears that went into the rebuild, yet 7 years on it still puts a proper grin on my face no matter what mood I am in. Ahh and the fact I would do it all again in a heart beat.

Out of many contenders, I've whittled it down to three photos... This one because it's my dad's current ride and it's his fault I'm so obsessed with old cars. This one because there were a lot of sentimental memories (not to mention blood, sweat and tears) tied up in the build, hibernation and resurrection of this car. And this shot of me driving on the 'Ring - we only had 120bhp-odd and an auto 'box, four-up with a boot full of camping gear but you know what? I reckon we were having the most fun out there. (And look, that 911 can barely keep up...!)

i love my car being RWD and i love the way it shows you don't need an 325i to get it sideways, a LSD an 50bhp is enough. That day was the best day i had in the car

Because it just looks so good. Because it gets me into trouble, then, because it's a ridiculous thing, generally gets me out of it.

This one right now because I like the way the new boy is showing off to the old hand.
