That's most excellent - in fact i was thinking about this car just the other day and wondering what was happening to it.
The colour really suits it, I think and the wheels are a good shape. I do think they'll work even better with the darker centres you have planned.

Awesome. I wondered what had happened to this. Colour and rims are the tits - and with grey inserts - super nice. This is going to be a sweet ride for sure - keep it up

So a little progress from last weekend (really had no time at all) pushed it outside and bolted the doors one. Adi spent ages getting the shut lines sorted out as they were all over the shot! Look spot on now. And a little more of the colour in the sun Got a couple of days planned on it next week, hopefully get going on the engine service work (valve clearences mainly) and paint the engine bay. God theres a lot to do!

That's looking awesome. Have you got a steering wheel to replace the XJ item? An e-type never seems right without a wood rim wheel.

So got a bit more time on the E this weekend. Wasn't exactly full of energy (and was 'wasting' time hooning around in the Escort....) so progress is slow and steady - least it means I'm not going to scratch the paint! Anyway, I've been concentrating on putting the rear and tub back together. So the doors are fully rebuilt and adjusted. I did try getting some e34 electric window motors in there but it was turning into a 3 day job so I'm going to stick with the hand ones for now! Also got everything on the back to make it look like a car again. All that I need to do behind the cabin now is carpet the boot, so not too much. Photos - Took ages to get the exhausts right and level, plus needed stiffening adding to boot floor around the mounts. The two clear lights at the back are reverse (obviously) and the right hand one will have a chrome red blub in it to shine red, thus making a fog light. And to finish things off I got myself some US spec light lens because I want to use a limited colour palet on the car. Started like this Now like this Good as new But having red light means you need some green behind them to get an orange flash. So I got some green tinted plastic and did this whish gives this - it looks more orange in real life though Looks like it'll be a while before I get onto it again. Needs a good push, probably in summer. Bonnet still needs paint, and a full redesign and build of the interior! To finish the badges I made - from keyrings! Came out very well I though

So as has been the norm on this project, its not really progressed much as I'm still in the wrong country.... But I have been getting on with a side project of making a modern stereo that looks old. Following on from this thread - retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=60622&page=1 I bought one of these and a 99p 8 track player of ebay. Stipped both down, cut here and there and now I have this Came out pretty well I'd say, now I just need to make a dash for it to sit in!

I love this car!! Its absolutely beautiful. The colour and wheels would never be used on a "proper" E type but they look absolutely spot on!
