THe MR2 is about 96k old on a G plate.
What oil would you think would be best? The MOT garage put 10W40 in - is that a little thin do you think?

I used to use castrol RS fully synthetic with my 4age engine. Expensive but worth it the way I used to run it. I think that was 10w-40. You are better using a synthetic or semi synthetic with a 4age as mineral oils tend to loose their lubrication in engines running over 6000rpm.

I use 15w50, but that's in a mini so it's used as engine and gearbox oil

If its an NA MR2 then you can go 10w-40 semi synthetic or 5w-40 full synthetic as a quality option. If its a turbo, then 5w-40 full synthetic or 10w-50 if it is modified or used on the track. Cheers Guy.
