Just thought I'd quickly say hi Got an '85 Mk2 XR2 with a few toys on her. Always been into Retro stuff and would love to be able to afford to own more than one

Hello there! & welcome to the board. I've always had a soft spot for the MK2 XR2, they were the cars I desired when I first started driving - I just loved the chunky looks with the black plastic body kit and the sort of chuckable way they drive. Seems now it has become alright to like them again after getting something of a dubious reputation along with most other late eighties hot hatches. Right, i'm off to have a look at the pictures/spec you've posted in the Readers Rides section

i love the mk2 fezza.... easily euro'd but there's something spot-on about a stock xr2. i was just getting into cars when they came out, i was about 9 i think (first ones on an E plate?) and could just picture myself owning one. one thing though.... S&M Motorsport (in yer sig...) is it a bad initials coincidence or is there a darker, more sinister side to your car?

The first Mk2 XR2's were B plates IIRC, mine's is a C and is an early spec model (different colour interior, different carb & head) S&M - Very deliberate choice of letters there It actually just means Stuarty & Mick (my mate and my bro) who together built a seriously quick road/track XR2 with a ZVH engine (zetec bottom end with CVH head) and actually pulled a couple of 24 hour shifts doing it. So, they like to say they are gluttens for punishment So it works on all levels
