I definitely do with the Golf. I've got all the parts I need now (tyres, new front suspension bits, new back brake bits), and all the tools. Just don't seem to get round to tackling it... I hate working on cars but I love driving them... Maybe tomorrow I'll get the battery on charge and get it running, make a start...

Does anyone else need a kick up the with their projects?
Oh yes. I have no excuses neither. Some of you guys have created gems with very little outlay, so I can't say money.
My cherry koop has been patiently waiting for attention for 2 years now. Its collecting spiders and storage has cost me at least 6 times the cars value in storage a year.........but I won't sell it!

I'm guilty of this too . Although the fact that I'm moving house at the end of the month has meant that I've at least got to get the Mercedes back on the road! The turbo V8 is still in pieces but I've had absolutely no time at all to sort that out - I shall have to ship it to Cornwall with me and complete it then!

Cornwall, eh? Lucky curse word.
I am the CROWN prince of unfinished / unloved / unstarted projects.
At one point a few years ago I had 4 'project' cars at my folks place. None of them were mobile. I had to cycle everywhere. I didn't even live there either. ;D
I have finally faced facts that I am incredibly sh1t at most mechanical things. Basic servicing & running repairs is one thing, full-on resto jobs is another. Especially when your attention is constantly diverted by ankle-biters / women / beer / work etc. I have called in a few 'favours' to get the Landy roadworthy. Better to spend £200 getting it done by someone who knows what they're doing than having it festering in bits outside the living room window for a year or two!

Motivation isnt the problem in my case. Too many projects and not enough time is. Not just cars but work (normally have to work pretty late during the week but as I am on salary get no extra for it ) Also my garage which I have been trying to do as much by myself as I can in my spare time, paid from by salvage/repaired cars (which I have to do in my other spare time ;D). As well as generall maintenance on my everyday cars, my families cars and friends cars. Then finally at the bottom of the priority list my project cars/toys. Which currently stand at MK1 escort 2.0 crash damaged (oops ) in need of a full rebuild once the garage is complete. MK2 escort 2.1 in need of a new floor. Locust kit car (chassis only at the minute) Monza been of the road the past month while I have been getting it ready for MOT. Nearly complete now just needs painting to finish. Piazza Turbot Needs a head gasket once I finish the Monza. And now my new edition Silvia S12. Which apart from an oil and filter change one night this week. needs nothing doing to it at the minute just as well as I am gonna use it as my daily chugga for the next few weeks.

Hmm. My problem is not having a drive or garage to work on/in, oh and trying to keep two cars on the road as well as working on a project. Spent about an hour this evening on the silver one (which is parked on the trailer outside the house), cleaning it out a bit and taking front lights etc off ready for welding work - once the cage bloke has completed a Porsche mine's next so it should be all caged up soon - yippee!

I really should get the Imp painted, and the interior still isn't finished, although both of those are partly because I'm skint, when I can afford a decent six point cage and getting the paint done I'll do both. I really should be doing more to it though, I've been seriously busy lately so I've done almost nowt productive to the Imp lately.

I love driving cars... but also working on them! It's a major buzz getting something working after a round of mods or repairs. Getting the Imp racer running after a couple of years work was AMAZING. Having to then send it away for two years for a re-shell was a bummer, though. (I don't yet have bodywork skills, see. ) I have another project, though, which has Stag-nated ( ) for too long. I had the shell plastic media stripped about 7-8 years ago and it has sat in grey weld-to primer ever since. I need to get the Imp running, clear some of my debts and then set about restoring and slightly uprating the Stag. Only slightly modifying. Very very slightly. Got some ideas. 427 Chevrolet...? ;D I think that the mark of a true car nut is when enthusiasm exceeds pecuniary resources by an unhealthy margin, as in my case, for instance. I'm

I've got a Fiat 127 1300GT in a shed for the last 8 years, there are none left over here now, definitely putting it back on the road next year when new garage is built

Neglected projects? There's my dad's 1933 Riley 9, which we have had for 5 years, but done nothing except move it around. It wasn't until a few months ago that we eventually found out what the chassis number was!!! And of course my Amazon, which could do with a body make over

I'm lazy really! i only worked on the shuv so much to get it finnished so i could go to shows and take it to uni as i cant really work on it there. I had a Mini Minus shell i bought but ran out of money and another car came along so it got sold. I really want to be able to have a project car that is off the road, well, not my everyday car, so i can take my time and get it perfect.
