Found a link on the 16V Mini forum to a guy building a Audi 1.8T engined Mini... www.btinternet.com/~paulsparkes/Minaudi.htm...its only in the early stages but should be pretty mad when its finished. He is basically using the Audi bulkhead and floorpan with a Mini shell on top keeping the quattro system and all the ABS and traction control. I just hope he isn`t going to style it like his Type R build, Impreza blue and all that.

I see what you mean, the back window too, he'll probably have to find a specialist to make those up for him.

sounds a mad project. Wheelspin galore i would have thought too lol. I'm not sold on the big wheels either, small wheels just look SO right on a mini. The glass shouldnt be a problem for him though, most places can cut to order these days. Think about all the roof chops etc.

i suppose there has to be a rather large minimum wheel size due to the disk and calipers hes planning on using. just had another look and the rear disks are goin to be 10" anyway! that man is pure car-ayzee

if it aint mini then it aint a mini.

yeah i thought that after actually looking at the site properly. I'm really not a fan of the bodykits on mini's, but that finished photo from the rear does look mean. The exhaust looks SO out of proportion ;D

The glass shouldnt be a problem for him though, most places can cut to order these days. Think about all the roof chops etc. Though cutting down an existing laminated screen would be no trouble... nor getting new flat laminated glass cut.. but for this widening you would need to get a special screen made to order remembering it is curved you unlike a roof chop you need to add in not take away ;-), though luckly onlin in one plane... though at GAYdon there is a widened mini, perhaps borrow the glass from that! but suppose in realtion to the rest of the project the glass will be a sinch! utter madness but cool Si
