Depends, can "J-Tin" include Korean cars? Using it as a statement of the car being from the far east somewhere.... Or "Pro street" just mean anything with a V8 in it?
The term as I have always understood it has been as Hirst's first post suggests that it is synonymous with "personal luxury car" which is a market defined term like "sport utility vehicle" or "super mini".
I get pendatic about stuff.

Love these I'd agree with the closest we got here was the Zodiacs @ about 14-15' J cars were always quite small but i'd say the Cedrics and Presidents were probably the biggest from over there (i think my 280C is about 15' long) my Zephyr is 15 foot 8 inches, and Haynes tells me the Zodiac was a couple of inches longer personal luxury car? - a 2-door then? what about the Jensen Interceptor? surprisingly huge car, and with 7 litres of Mopar power - id call that personal luxury ;D

buick riv boattail love them sooooo much. used to watch due south just for that car me too, they cost a bazillion pounds now though. No they don't do they? A chap round the corner from me had one on Ebay in December, had MOT iirc, the interior was a bit shabby, he relisted it twice due to lack of bids, and I think it sold for under 3 grand in the end. Physically wouldn't fit on my drive though

If you're gonna do it, do it BIG style. I have Superfly permanently recorded on Sky+ just so I can repeatedly watch the intro of it with him cruising round in his odd looking Eldorado, which was actually owned by a genuine 70s pimp of some description: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BAL49RUS-TUCracking film!

A local garage gave me a Ford Galaxy as long as i took it away, unfortunatly it was 2 foot longer than my recovery truck, not just the bed, the whole frikken truck i could have loaded the truck on the car and took it away Sold it to a banger racer and made £50 "brokeradge fees" so it wernt a total loss.

I generally consider 'land yacht' a term to describe the massive luxo barges from America from the late fifites to the early seventies.
When i fill my Caddy convertible with friends and go cruising it's akin to being in a yacht

Galaxie. Had me confuzzled for a second ;D Despite not being what I'd term a land yacht, I love the Galaxie! On my wall behind a glass frame is a poster for The Driver with Ryan O'Neal wearing sunglasses, sat inside that car. You can see the daft buttoned upholstery and everything.
