Tidied out the attic, had a rewire done, needed a sort out anyway, the upshot of which is there are a lovely selection of vintage car radios and the like in the for sale section of this very forum, plus I found some slot mags I had forgetten I even owned, which is kinda like getting free slot mags. The collection is largely in one place now, which you can't quite see the extent of because the flash on the camera wasn't strong enough to get right to the back but you get the idea I think. I also got together most of my old valve radios me ol' telly and you know I used to be as bad with car audio stuff as I am with wheels and the like I have a few pictures too... I collect all manner of stuff. I think I need this as my new sig pic. Anyone else got way too much stuff (retro related, natch) they feel they want to share?

You're mad! ;D
I collect stuff too, particularly old cameras. I'm no David Bailey, but I just can't stop coveting the things! They're a bit easier to store than wheels though...
I also collect retro stereos but that collection isn't as big due to the space required to store them.

I used to have tons of retro stereo but had to have a clear out when I moved house. I remember buying this beautiful old early 70s stereogram thing off some guy to save it from being taken to the tip then driving round with it in my car all day round various mates to see if any of them wanted it because I knew I'd be so deadmeat if I took *another* one home LOL.

I predict that by 2030 the slotmag obsession will have turned into full-on diogenes syndrome. You will become Nottinghamshire's answer to Edmund Trebus.

they mostly have cars to go on, just that they haven't got that far yet.
I did once have this dream of opening a museum of old car tat, mostly featuring wheels, kinda like the city scape set from Logan's Run with huge chrome and glass rigs containing mag wheels on racks slowly revolving to the subdued tones of a Straus waltz.
It could be beautiful

yes is that the insurance ,my ceiling has collapsed under the weight of my dirty mag collection!! hello.........hello.......... LOLz ;D wanted 4x108 turbovecs! I tend to collect a bit too much, got it off me dad who collects sh1te, (amongst the cool stuff) GF helped me tidy garage from curse word store to work shop after new year moving bits. Was nearly a mistake as she wanted me throw a cool 80's wood surround TV (perfect period TV prop) awesome, I couldn't do it and she couldn't take the guilt, so took half of a west yorksire built stereogram, a curse word old tumble dryer and other stuff. I should carry this trend on clensing my junk, we'll see, I love 'old stuff' too much! Worksop is looking spacious and useful now thanks to her input BTW will upload some examles later. mostly collecting bikes at the mo, all to be used though.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I'd go to the akku slot mag museum!! My 'pre car' obsession was with raleigh's finest ever product - the chopper! (note - VERY old photo ^^) got into them when I saw them in cc being used at rod runs, found one local, then it got BADLY out of hand - safe to say a minimum of 10 choppers were in my possesion at any one time from age 16 onwards, as well as piles and piles of associated bikes from the period, 20's, tomahawks, burners, a few grifters - but we won't talk about them! even got as far as importing a pair of 'export model' rebadged choppers from canada! (one girls, one boys) had all of them, special edition, 5 speed, mk1's, mk2's, the sprint GT with the drop handlebars - think the only one's I never got were the super uber rare ones like the 10 speeds, US spec 5 speeds, 3+2's etc then I got more into rat bikes, beach cruisers, cut down mixtes, anything interesting really! I realised it was getting a bit out of hand when I had to buy a 14 x 7" shed to house them all and work on them - then filled it completely with what I had! (these are also old pics - shed is now so full when you open the door stuff falls out!!) worse thing was it became such an obsession it diverted me from the cars for quite some years - and it was the cars which got me into them! currently in the middle of a 6 month total hiatus from the 2 wheelers, shut the shed door and locked it - as I wasn't enjoying it at all - once I get my bike mojo back I'm sure I'll clamber back in there and get fired up again! to make up for the lack of bike pics - have a video of us at billing a few years back - I'm the guy who's bike hasn't 'lit' as we forgot to parafin it for the first run! - rest assured I did ride it though!) - kev
