no one wanna guess then ??
heres a pic any way
so i only went up for a while today
got there and got the engine and box stuck together with no clutch or flywheel to try and keep things light as the mounts ect are going to have to made for this and getting her lined up can be a bit tricky
shows how big the vauxhall omega box really is when its strapped on to the engine
its only set in in that picture i have came across a few probs that require a bit off thought like the balancing shaft thats in the sump
and the oil cooler that located on the back side off the water pump
i knew this was going to be a challange from the start
when you buy a car with no running gear / engine/ gear box it usually is
nevermind what i am doing
so i have a pretty major problem that might stop me from using the z20let if it was a red top c20xe/c20let turbo engines it would have been in and running
i was hoping that if i mounted the engine a wee bit forward i would clear the big gap in the sump that is made for the front wheel drive exhaust
but it doesnt clear it hits the steering
so i took the sump off and found that the z20let comes with a balance shaft (similar to evos) only its in the sump (not in the block ) and it runs of the crank shaft via a large gear beside the crank shaft sensor gear
and it weighs 8.6 kilos
the problem i have is that this is right in the way off my manta sub frame that i have just spent a fortune in time and money getting welded in to the car
so after a full day going threw the z20let fourms ect it turns out that it can be removed and it was the only z20le* to be fitted with it
2.2 ect have it but in different forms
a bit more homework and it turns out that its acctually a performance modification for higher bhp z20let engines
i think happy days ill order me one off those kits
guess what ??
only out off bloody stock and because its the christmas holidays they wont be open till the 4th jan 2010
so i do a bit more home work turns out most off the kit is from vauxhall themselfs being z20leh parts (vxr astra)
happy days quick skoot up to vauxhall deallers and melt the guys head for 20 mins they could order it tho they wouldnt give me the part numbers incase i order them somewhere else / put it on the internet so a popular tuning company loose there mark up on it
so at the min i have to get this kit so its on hold untill i get them on the phone
