well here it is folks some of you have saw it / herd about it its also the reason the 2.5 v6 viva coupe thread has not been up dated its a viva hc 2 door saloon I am hoping to get ready for the performance vauxhall show the first week in june which I have missed 5 years in a row so here is a few teaser pic s boot floor (thats not rust its red lead paint) under bonnet pic rear 1/4 and interior as you can see this one was worth buying/saving I spent all day clearing rubbish out of my shed I honestly did not get that much done but what I did get done was thanks to mostly my brother (who donated a few parts to the cause ) and my mate tony the new front front cradle which is out of a mk1 cavalier is in its postion is 2" wider than a standard viva one but it should be better for the car as more parts are avalible off the shelf for it tho I might have some problems with the shocks I am going to have some problems with gear box clearance in the tunnel aswell I have another gear box set up I am going to try tomorrow I have started building an engine today aswell I will take photos when I am back up in the shed:woohoo:

thats lovely
was a long day today
right so far i have tryed the omega box and like i said it was to big it wouldnt allow the engine to sit low enough
so i have got a ford type 9 with a sbd alloy bellhousing
the ford gear box just clears the tunnel but the gear stick hole is 2-3" futher back and is very close to the hand brake
i have a manta front cradle which bolted up but the back legs on the manta are thinner than the viva
so i can make up some new spacers and move the mounting holes in the viva chassis back a bit
then the engine head was fouling the bulk head
so i theased it back with a hammer and moved the whole manta front end forward 1" everything clears now using the manta mounts and sump and the ford gear box lined up perfectly with the viva gearbox mount
while the hammering / teasing was going on i cliped the blanking plate of the head and broke the bit the cam usually bolts to
i then spent a good 3 hours trying to drill the bolt out and retap it
only for my tapping tool to break in the nice new hole i spent ages drilling
i dunno what i am gonna do with it now
so i have to move the gear stick hole back
and my inlet manifold now fouls the brake servo so i have to move it forward aswell

That's gonna look effin' awesome!
Get it as low as possible on the wheels in the first pic or some detailed Wolfrace slot mags and that would be perfect!
Keep up the good work!

Nice! How did I miss this one? It looks very similar to how mine originally did! Same shade paint and same gold pinstripe down the sides.. same interior even (apart from mine having a black dashboard). Good work with the engine conversion, mine has pretty much stopped progress at the wheels and lowering and that's it.

not likely - the front suspension is double wishbone with really short shocks so would be hard to get something that adjustable in there. The rears you could probably do using something like Toyota AE86 rears or anything which has the bolt mount at top and eye mount at the bottom, and then do away with the rear springs between the trailing arms and the body.

I've NEVER seen a Viva that clean - excellent base for what looks like a crackin build plan. Kudos on crackin on despite the breakage, drill, tap fracture etc... setback - we all have days like that now n then Please tell me you're keeping that colour - it makes me go wibble ;D John

does any one know if they do coilovers for a viva? Not sure about coilovers but I've got the Magnum pretty low with custom springs and new adjustable Avo dampers, it's on the build thread if you want to have a look

see the problem i am having is i am using the front half of a manta (cradle brakes springs anti roll bars ect) as there is far more tuning parts for the mantas and as mantas have turrets for the shocks and the viva doesnt not the viva ones originally are inside the springs sent my turbo manifold away today to get welded /opened up also some bits have started to arrive / to be collected these are not gonna be easy to clean up lol old viva axel for the chop
