OK, working on the basis that people would have told me if I'd posted this lot before, here's my show report from back in the summer.
The show is the reworking of the old Leicester Mercury Pageant of Motoring which used to take place in Abbey Park, Leicester but moved to Beaumanor Hall at Woodhouse near Loughborough a few years back. Its one of those shows which you just don't realise will be as big as it is when you go for the first time. Its a while since I'd been to anything at Beaumanor and I'd forgotten how heeeuge the show area is.
I'll post these up in chunks to save loading speeds for folks. First batch is the yanks and the rods.
First up, and I have real deja vue here - almost as bad a Deja Dare (Rmad, do not Google Deja Dare in front of your kids) - are two of my favourite cars of the show, both of which are Pontiacs.
But this bubble top is hiding a hi-tech surprise....
Can you tell what it is yet?
full Carputer install and a hod load of ICE.
This '66 Executive was right up my alley,
although 2 too many doors for ultimate win.
'68 Impala was on the money though, doors and all
I prefered this Chrysler before it grew the bling rims. Maybe if it were slammed and raked they would work for me?
My favourite song by the Specials is "Stereotype"
Flamin' Nora
A little bit Lewis...?
Squarebird was way clean.
Dodge Wayfarer I think? Nice base for a kustom anyway,
There was an old guy in beige slacks giving this Minor pickup the once over and tut-tutting to himself.
Fiat twink is almost as "period correct" as an A series in these now!
Hudson Hawk wasn't just a crappy film
Bruce Willis wasn't it?
Hearsely wagon on air I think
Rednex
Its a Ray's Rods '33 Plymouth. Nothing like a '33 Plymouth but very nostalgic. Some say Ray had never seen a real '33 Plymouth when he made up these moulds....
LOUD!
Detail...
Ford of same era. Well, repro thereof
streetrod!
Lovely FD VX4/90 is same owner car from new.
Currently with an Edelbrock crate 350 SBC.
Nice Pop has been around a few years like this and still looks spot on and box fresh to my eyes
Stance is great
Deuce
Have "duel" fantasies?
These G3 F bodies are growing on me.
Great performance for the money.
Its the feds!
Everyone said this Mercury Grand Marquis was what they could see me drive home in.
Pearl Tango AMC was more my OOF though...
And the Olds was killer.
I get hawt for emblems and badges to!
White Trans Am
What the Blazers?
Stars and stripes!
mud pluggin'
Freeze! Its the law! I'm quite feeling a late CROWN Vic myself...
Custom vans - woooah! I still dig dem
Modern yank performance stuff.
More Lewis
Have I already done the "what the Blazers?" Yeah? Aw fergeddit
