Computor . Google. Saves hours of headscratching when trying to sort an obscure fault on an obscure car.

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

flat head screw-driver... a.ka scraper, lever, pry-bar, allen key, ignition key, battery tester, drill, scribe, oh, and of course, it's also really good for removing screws!!!! This has been mentioned twice already but i'm voting for it for a third time. Oh, and this morning the best piece of equipment I had was a bottle of water.......................................................and then a restuarant gave me buckets of water when the car overheated and got sick at the ferry port! Sorry... it was late, thought i'd red the whole thread properly... guess my eye's were just meeting in the middle!!!! lol p.s, i'd have voted for sex panther to be honest... ;D Initially I thought SEX PANTHER aftershave and Condoms, double-glazed "just in case". Wrong tool kit it seems.

Computor . Google. Saves hours of headscratching when trying to sort an obscure fault on an obscure car. +1 This is one of the things that has really helped me when messing about with old cars! Without that & the advice & tuition that I've received in person from a few friends over the years (ranging from really basic stuff to how to starting me off with how to balance carbs), I wouldn't have known where to start!!!!

Not really essential, but once you use one, you never want to use anything else... air powered impact wrench. My dad gave me his compressor and I bought one... WOW amazing, things come off so easily... no more breaking stuff with my 4ft breaker bar (including the tiny bench vice I had) .
