Nooooo!!!! The scuttle is just where the wing hit it. I think it's still pretty straight. Boot lid and door gaps are fine. The only door that won't open is the drivers, and that's because the wing has it pinned shut. The only damage I can see on the chassis, is where the drag link has been pulled off The point of impact was the track controll arm, so at the worst, either that or the crossmember or maybe both could be bent there is a recent thread on the asoc forum with a chassis dimension diagram so you can check alignments This. Then at least you will know for certain whether or not the suspension mounts are in the right place, and thus whether it will still drive properly when repaired.

Just a thought here. Isn't the inner panelwork at the front shared with the Chrysler/Talbot Sunbeam? That could increase the amount of panel donors. I reckon you could save the inner wing by letting a section in from a donor panel. yes but most sunbeams have rotted away/been used to re-shell lotuses/thrown into the trees by our irish cousins. a lot more affordable/solid avengers than sunbeams about inner wings and chassis legs imported from south america are available from mal stuart motorsport but aren't cheap.

Really sorry to see/hear that, but at least you're alright As for the car, I brought my Escort back from worse, and I believe it's even been brought back from the mess I left it in after RRG10! As long as it's solid it shouldn't be too bad to bring back

Yeah, I saw the thread on ASOC, might me quite useful. Already found a source for steering racks at £20, WIN! Looks as though steel wings for MK1 avengers are no longer in production, though I do know a local avenger enthusiast who may have a spare, failing that, I've found fibreglass ones for £65. Can't fit any worse than the pattern one I've got on the other side. Hairymel, might tae you up on the offer of a TCA if mineturns out to be bollixed. Already got a new bonnet amd grille for it, also have a replacement suspension mount and a replacement strut if needed. Another RX7 headlight should be easy enough to sort, and I've had plenty of offers of help through East Coast Retros on facebook. I'm sure the inner wing will come right with the correct ammount and application of force. I will not give up. If the insurance company want to write it off, they can kiss my bumhole, I'll pay for it myself! I will not go quietly into the night! I will not vanish without a fight!
Independance Day, what a film, lol

I have an early eighties Autodata chassis dimension book at the workshop. It will probably have Avengers in there as it has cortinas and mk1 escorts in it. It might just be the same info on the avenger site but i'll dig it out and scan it anyway.

Could be worse Track rod is bent, think the track control arm is too The drivers door now opens, it had just moved on it's hinges thankfully Bit shorter than it should be, lol Insurance company never got back to me like they said they would, so stuff them. Got a mate who is doing bodywork at Suffolk college, just round the corner from me. He's gonna ask his tutor if he can stick the avenger on their jig to pull the inner wing out. Things are looking up

Well buttocks, I look away from this thread for five minutes and this is what happens. I do hope everything falls into place to get the car sorted out, it already sounds like you're well on the way with the parts. If ever a car deserved yet another chance this is it and you have my full support in the latest resurrection.

On a more positive note, I have some control arms and probably most the front suspension parts you want for free, I live near Stowmarket too if you are interested? Hairymel has my old engine so spreading the love slowly!! Dave.

Ouch. Sorry to hear about your accident. I am glad you are okay. I have a Chrysler UK workshop manual, the kind they sent out to all the dealers. And that has all the chassis measurements and tech drawings of all the suspension bits if you need. I can scan then and email them to you. I feel your pain. I did almost the exact same thing in my Avenger race car, I repaired mine again and raced it for many years after. Avengers are pretty tough and I am glad you are repairing yours. Here is a video of my crash and some photos of the damage.
