Gentlemen - what a fabulous site - Thank you. My car was last seen in public in the hands of an incompetent spy with a phobia for a certain credit card.. soon to become Johnny English in an eponymous film. Was offered a job restoring astom martins many years back (as a trainee), always regret saying no. Ment moving 200 miles away and at 17 i just wanted to be near my mates  Great work! |

Thanks for the kind comments. It's my friend Malcolm who is the real whizzo welder - he restores Renault 4's too (masochist!) he also has a mig welding website - which for any learners is a real gold mine. www.mig-welding.co.uk/My other 'project' is my wife's 1974 VDP 1300 - but since working on the Aston I've had no time to do anything on it (Requires taking out the engine to weld new subframe mounting in) regards Nigel |
