how about just the centre "webs" between the spokes body colour and the rest silver.. not really sure how this would work but its an idea I'm just throwing out there... si Damn you guys!! I tried the colour coded, but it looked a bit lame.....however, a slightly darker version of the body colour works quite well I reckon! Damn you guys!! ;D

All silver seems to visually enhance the dish somehow and surely that can't be a bad thing.

All silver seems to visually enhance the dish somehow and surely that can't be a bad thing. That's exactly what I thought when I did the photoshop. The silver appeared to be the bigger & deeper dished wheel. Your comment confirmed my thoughts and I went back to have a look again. I guess at 7am my eyes & brain are more visually alert than when I did the images late at night. I noticed that the black looked very flat (not much contrast) which I don't think helped the look compared to the silver. I did a quick tweak in photoshop and reckon the black certainly looks a lot better now....which is a bad thing because I am now genuinely split as to which finish to go for! Looks better/more realistic doesn't it? Why couldn't I have done that at the beginning? (note to MM: must go to bed earlier, must get more sleep, mustn't get so tired :

MM = Massive Masochist.
You know how to make it difficult for yourself ehh Bruce ?
I like the idea of the green wheels, but would say that for longer term pleasure and enjoyment (Read, getting bored) the black and silver combo may be a better option.

Lotus rims,.. and then give me a pair of 6 and a pair of 7 inch Enkei's to play with As you know, that might well be happening if all goes to plan. Don't think I didn't notice you browsing 'that' page of your Datsun book when you should have been working on the car ;D I'm saying no more for now. In other news.....following on from THIS THREAD I have now ordered 6 new tyres. 4 x 155/55/14 and 2 x 165/55/14. I guess I'd better get to work on cleaning up/painting the wheels.

Slightly darker than body colour is too cool. With the a-team van i just meant for the wheels rascal rep's look a bit lame. Like how the spokes were body coloured and the inners were black. Change red for darker than body colour and i reckon you're-a-rockin!

Thanks Tigs. Do you mean something like this? My photoshop-fu isn't working too good on this one, so the colour looks all wrong....but it gives an idea. Not my fave, but that's probably more down to my lack of computa skeellzz than the idea itself.

Hi there this project is really getting my juices flowing, must say i agree with tigs on the colour and i know it's more work but try that with just the edge lip polished or white just to accentuate the stretch etc?
Just my 2 pence but think it will rock no matter what, it's your whip at the end of the day. ;D

Hi Chris,
Springs worked out ACE! Well worth the trip to yours to get them. Thanks again.
I'll be at RR09 for sure - the only problem is choosing which car? Delica, Rascal or V6 MR2 (if it's finished by then?)
Cheers for now,
Bruce.

Oh noes - look what I have just gone and bought: I was liking the 7" stylie so much that I couldn't resist. I've now got a set of four 6" Vecs and a set of SIX 7" Vecs!! There is a plan afoot to use some of them elsewhere (not saying anything) and will have two spare wheels somewhere along the line. Looks like I might be ordering some more tyres soon
