I haven't noticed other road users driving slower.
I have adopted a more relaxed driving style, although I am still sticking very close to the speed limit I take longer getting there. I normally set off from a set of traffic lights and head towards the speed limit using the red line as my change gear marker, now I gently cruise up to the limit changing as soon as it sensible. HOW ANNOYING! LOL.

I still drive exactly the same, and the same amount. Cycle to work very rarely.. always intend to, but as I don't finish til 10-11pm most nights I generally change my mind when I leave the house.
I still put my foot down as much (though I now avoid using the second choke if I can avoid it). It's quite hard to drive my car economically, cause it's still on the 3 speed auto box, and therefore always in the wrong gear unless I plant it.

I do a lot of miles, I run a 2007 Seat Leon FR TDi daily, in which I've done 20k in 8 months. I've noticed my cost of fuel has ogne through the roof on a monthly basis, and I get paid in pence per mile for business journeys.
It's been set at 13ppm since March last year when I got the job, and I've gone from making a little on my business fuel, to losing out, by quite a margin.
I've kicked up a fuss, and the fuel benefit amount has been 'under review' for 2 months now! It's costing me my own money to drive all over for work, it's killing me!
I'm seriously tempted to get a job based locally and save the hassle

Ive changed around town, slower and steadier and its upped my averages from 21mpg over the week to 23mpg lol. On the motorway its still outside lane all the way lol Mind you it doesnt make masses of difference as my mileage gets paid by work

I'm thinking of converting the Uno to LPG. Last week I drove my girlfriends aunties LPG converted BMW 535i from Lockerbie in Scotland, down to Blackburn in Lancashire, then back up to Dundee. It cost £34 in gas, and that was cruising between 100 and 130mph all the way up.
My reckonking is that if its so cheap to run a huge car like that, it'll make the Uno mega cheap to run.
Only problem is how to convert it because of the bike carbs.

It's mostly affected my wallet The miles that I do are pretty mandatory, and living out in the country, anything but using a car doesn't make any sense economically or how long it will take me. It doesn't help that my girlfriend lives 140miles away at the moment and I'm expected to drive up and see her every weekend or other weekend at my expense. I've been thinking about LPG a lot recently, I considered buying Boring's lovely volvo 240 and more recently a BMW E28 528i off ebay, both LPG'd. The 528i was listed on a one day auction and sat at £300, and that's what it sold for. Why isn't it in my possession? The rip off merchants, aka insurance companies, wanted nearly £1000 to cover it TPFT. For reference I'm 22 with 3yrs no claims. Thus shattering my dreams of economic driving. I also have a Defender 90 2.5tdi, but I stopped using that as much as it worked out in a year I could buy an E30 and the amount of money saved paid for the car and more. But now the E30 is about £60 to fill to the brim so I'm getting royally screwed at the moment.

It's affected us: Turned into: Any my company car will shortly turn from: Into this: Cumulative BHP of 400+ drops to about 200, and engine from combined 3.8+turbo to 2.9 litres +electric motor. Also driving a bit slower as well, even though I don't pay for company fuel I've realised it costs the company (and the planet) best part of £120 each time I drive to Cornwall (520 round trip) which is sobering. It affects profits and in the end bonus as well. Have taken the train a bit as well recently. Actually quite nice on the west country trains, excellent views, nice seats, plug in your laptop and do some work/watch a film. Have to say on my long drives down the private test track that runs alongside the M5 I can sit at 80 now for over an hour and not be overtaken. A year or so ago a good 25% of traffic was going past.
