Errm Yes! I would have fitted a record player if it wasn't for the fact it would skip Funny you should say that...when I was a kid in the '70s my brother had a dash-mounted record player in his Vauxhall Magnum. It would only play 7" singles and you pushed them in like you do CDs in modern single-load CD/radios. It only skipped if you hit a really big pot-hole. Now I haven't seen one of those in years... (or a Vauxhall Magnum, for that matter)

For the record, I may be a geek but I don't have inch-thick glasses, braces, a bad complexion and a pocket protector.
I have a beard and a mohawk. Go team.

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

am a bit of an audio junkie myself, and am quite liking your tidy install, i like to keep everything hidden just for security mainly - i like using standard speaker positions, but i like how you have managed to fit your woofers without cutting panels. has your head unit got a switchable source ? ie tuner/tape/cd-md? or fm/am/cd? as i made a lead for my brother in law to plug his personal minidisc player into his old sony stereo going thru the cd changer input on the rear (just some phonos with wire going to a 3.5mm stereo socket i mounted in a blanking plate) may work for you too? i would consult the manual first tho, altho should work if you have a source button (and cd option without actually having it) feel free to ask me also Space monkeys is something i have experienced - i have found the solution to be highter bitrate mp3 tracks i usually go for 128 and above. seems to get rid of them Yeah I was going to make up a lead to plug into the CD changer socket in the back of the unit - but I don't know which pins are which & if the unit needs to see some kind of other signal to enable the Source to scroll round to give the CD changer option? (at the moment it just swaps between tape and radio) Perhaps you can enlighten me? I know some of the later head units have the capability to control an IPod remotely with the connection of a special lead. Paul H; I can't find any specific speakers like you describe - but I think I know the kind you mean, speakers mounted in a ready-made box with a metal 'U' bracket allowing the speakers to be angled & rotated? I would imagine they would be the kind of thing you could get from your local budget motor factors, perhaps try RS components or Maplins?

ill look into it for you iyour head unit is a pioneer yeah? i think there wiring for all of them is standard on the multichangers, the main problem being getting the cd option, but if i can find a diagram it should be on that somewhere . the sony had rca inputs and was very easy to do as it already had the option for cd /md on the source menu.
also can remember seeing a film years ago with a big pink caddy in it which had a dash mounted record player, apparently they apply lots of pressure to the record and can cause considerable wear, so best not use ur best singles eh?
