They go pretty quick anyway - 180bhp as standard, 0-60 in about 8.5 I think 230hp with boost controller, later manifold and exhaust... And they are RWD ;D Plus debadge and add a Caravan Club sticker and you have the perfect Q-car... Totally converted me to Volvos, and will be sad to see it go

Wouldn't the midget be lovely with an R1 lump stuck in there... ;D Of course you would have to ditch the bumpers and do something trick with the suspension, however keeping the outside a stock as possible, bumpers aside, would make it the coolest car EVER, especially were you to smoke around in it wearing a cloth cap and string-back gloves, perhaps smoking a pipe?! ;D BB

A few years ago I rescued a 1971 Midget shell from an MG scrappy (day before it was going to be rolled over to get the axle) with thoughts of doing a track car along those lines... But never got around to it, and sold the shell last year after realising how much time and space the twins are going to require Good news is that bloke who bought it was turning into a trials car However, there is a local informal meet (Griffin pub at Papplewick for anybody near Nottm) that such a car turns up to. Only reason I noticed it, and got talking to the owner, was the non-standard gearlever that was obviously for something sequential. Gorgeous car and conversion. My 1500 was my daily driver (and only car) for about 4 years doing 15k-18k hard miles a year. I wore a lots of bits out!
