For my AS DT Project I'll be building a Soap Box racer for next year's RR show. Luckily they've opened it up a bit so that the Situation is 'Something to make life at school easier'. My school is on the side of a hill.... so why not ehh? I'll keep this thread updated with my build, which should start in the next week or so! Adam

any rules on sizes?? gotta be done I think a car with the engine removed might have it's disadvantages

lol, just a thought do we have to have the ability to brake, or is there some sort of stopping device at the bottom like bales of straw??

i think u need a hand brake, i wouldnt rely on hitting something as a way of stopping

Definatly needs brakes We're aiming for the sort of thing that gets entered into the SFVISBF.. so that should give you some guidance in terms of size and materials..

although if its down the same hill as this year i don't think the brakes will need to be that good

Yup,.. but with more competitors they will be needed for safety.. We may well start from the top of the hill as well..
