I'm sorry, but i'm going to have to do the unthinkable at lunchtime.....I'm going to wash it.
Sorry, but I need to. It's looks rough and i have just been informed by the garage down the road that some 'gents' expressed an interest in it last night. And lets face it, it does look a bit abandoned.
I reckon a nice wash, and then i'll lock it in our compound each night. They might think twice if looks like a cars that someone will be bothered about, should it go walkies.

Nice one! What a result, glad it's all coming together now I don't blame you for washing it, I mean having a car on the road that looks like it's abandoned is a good lark but it invites all the wrong people to take an interest, don't think I could cope with that for long either. I think if it was given a real good valet and a seriously good waxing this luxo barge will be able to mix it up with even the most executive of traffic and not look out of place. That's what I call value for money!

washing it isnt too bad, u could always paint it with yogurt if u want the green stuff to come back.
perhaps taking some security measures would be a good idea if someones snooping round it??

Look....pretty car! Nice eh? Still can't get the bloody bonnet to shut though, which is mildy annoying. I also took it around the block, at pace, and all was well. Couple of grinds and squeaks but then it stopped. ABS light is a bit on/off/on/off/on/off but the ASR light has gone out. The coolant light came on too, but that's neither here nor there, just more water needed. Thing is, it's nice and all. But I don't really know if it's me. I'm just kinda glad i saved it now, but that's it. Hmmmmm

For the bonnet - make sure the release catch is pushed forward - sometimes they can stick on these and hence the catch is always open and the bonnet won't shut properly! Looks good cleaned

Looks good cleaned Yeah, that sorted the O/S but the N/S is still having none of it, i think the clip has slipped so the catch isn;t biting.

Gaffer tape FTW! That'll keep it shut! It's the right colour for it...
Stick with it though. Wasn't sure about my Merc for a good few weeks but I'm lovin' it now.

If i yank the fuse out for the ABS will that make the light go out? Or will i be sent to hell for such comments?

You'll put the light out altogether, which is also an MOT Fail, the tester will check to se it lilghts up then goes out like its supposed to.

depends on how lax/friendly your MOT tester is though?

iirc , and that's iirc they don't turn the car off after driving it on the ramps. so as long as the lights have gone out by the time they get to testing it'll be alright. ie, you could risk it and if they pick it up then fix it (apart from retest costs )
