Thanks all Downtown - I am leaning towards a felica motor as well. I have a 135 in the shed, but i would want to put a set of 136 pistons in and i am having trouble sourcing some. tbh it is a shame i pulled the 135 motor apart, but ho-hum! Ideal would be the felica MPI motor with bike carbs, wild cam and parpy exhaust, but we will see! I also got hold of a spare front subframe with 4pot brakes today as well. So those will be going on and keeping the other bits for spares. I also got a set of slightly wider stick on arches too, but not sure if i will use them, I like the look without, but might need to do something to run the wheels 'legally'. Pete - thanks mate, I will get there. Lack of a garage does hinder though and no room to build one Lewis

Can help you out on the bike carbs and parpy exhaust! Got a set of 36mm bike carbs complete and have the sport exhaust taken off the orange wonder when I fitted the Ashley.

Right, just to keep this thread rolling. I spent a bit of time today working on my sand blasting enclouser. I was using a bit of a hash up, so i decided to remake a new better MkII So it all starts with a clip frame. You know, the big plastic frames with no surround. I got a 500mm x 750mm one from wilkinsons for £4 I then cut up some plywood i have kicking about and glued and nailed it all together. Just need some rubber gloves to fit to the arm holes. top stuck on with mastic Here are some before and after shots of a shock bottom mount and some paint Now, a choice with my wheels. I am using some 15" weller 8 spoke steels. Should i have them in white, or black? I can't decide. or black there are some other pics of the wheels in black earlier in this thread. Any thoughts on wheel colour would be good. I also have a bird bath spoiler to paint, again black or white? Thanks Lewis

How about black centres with a silver rim to show the dish? It does look nuts in your signature pic on the black rims though...

DaveJ - nice thought about the two tone.
I did always plan to do them white. White cars and white wheels can look really good, but I am just a bit worried about it being too white if you know what i mean.
The backstop plan in satin black grill, wheel and spoiler as mentioned above by surprisingskoda, but i wondered if i could do something a bit more special

Hey Iain
Yeah deffinately! How about coming to RRG09?
So, The general consesus is white! I had planned to do them white to start with, but worried it would all be too white!
I like the stealthy black look, but it does hide the width and dish, which is kinda good, but also kind of a waste!
I went to pull the motor, but had trouble getting to the two top bolts/nuts connecting the engine to the box. I didn't have a 16mm or 5/8th spanner and you can't fit a socket in there. So I have a mate coming over this weekend. We are probably going to just take the box and suspension out at the same time.
I have cleaned up th 4 pot brakes, and a load of other bits in my new sand blasting box, so just a bit of paint and it will be ready to plug back in.

Hopefully can make some progress on Saturday mate. I'm quite looking forward to getting my hands dirty.
Can you get a 17" rim in your blast chamber btw?

engine bolts can be accessed from the gearbox hatch if you lower the engine down and be wary of the rear crossmember mounts being in good condition as the semi trailing puts more load on them

Mike - should be able to, but it does struggle with powder coat.
Jikovrom - Will pay attention. The rest of the car is solid as a rock so hopefully those mounting holes will be ok.
