Hi all, been a lurker for a while but not had anything to add. well today that changed when I got my hands on this skoda 120L estelle! its got a genuine 29k miles backed up by dealer stamps! nice little 1.3 engine! well the first mods I have done is remove the bumpers and I think it looks much better for it! future plans are SLAM it to the ground with some nice offset 13inch minilites and all the body cleaned up and sorted. I already have a spare engine from a different car and I have been toying with the idea of turboing the 1.3! and here is my other longer term project, skoda favorit with a vauxhall engine in the boot where once there were seats!

WHAT A HONEY!!!!
Put the bumpers back on though. Please. Oh, and 13's need ballooooon tyres to even get close to filling the arches, even when slammed. 4x130pcd means lots of lovely "aircooled VW" options. Get some big-ish BRM reps on there for instant cool.
I had one of these estelles as my first car years ago, beautiful to drive!

so you all reacon the front bumper should go back on? i thought it looked better without. I was going to smooth all the holes out of both the back and front! rally look is also an idea, bonnet pod lights and rally paint might look cool! and hairnet - cool you been looking at my skodall favalier! still not sorted a welder yet (but it is in hand) so the work has stopped for the minute! this car is a sort of little side project to keep me happy while i spend time to actually get the fav correct. i don't want to just lash it up (despite what it may look like )

oh, and the best thing is that it only cost me ÂŁ200 which i thought was damn good! basically NO rust. there is a little surface grime, but the structure of car is totally sound!

Cool car. Bumpers back on FTW! Please don't throw away any standard parts that you replace with modified ones, I'll buy them off you to help restore my fleet of rear engined beauties. :)Favorit looks like a lot of fun, be interested to see how it handles.

I tend to agree, the bumpers should be on, unless you are trying to save weight. I'm contemplating selling my soul to get one of these cars. Or maybe just my Lada. pmsl.

If no interest in wide steels, pm with details, i'm after a set for 1 of my projects, was going to look at getting a set of the Skoda steels banded in the new year.

well i am not really interested in banded steels, i was going more for a dished minilite type affair!
Dave - I think i will be selling the standard rims at some point soonish - as far as i can tell, all five alloys are basically mint!
not really sure if they are worth much but they are in really good nick!

well yesturday I changed the front indicator lenses to clear units to help clean the front up. and gave it a wash and a bit of a polish. the paint is knackered though... anyone got a 'magic' cure for crazed paint (other than a respray!)
