Have been pushing it into use as a daily for a while now, not many problems, but.....
It appears to either be rubbing on full lock and/or has fairly harsh understeer at low speeds. I suspect it is due to harsh bodyroll on the stock suspension. It looks fine parked up with the wheels on full lock and doesn't do it if you drive slowly. The front wheels are an inch wider than stock, but with lower profile tyres so I don't see any reason why they'd catch so easily. It only seems to happen if I force the suspension to roll over at speed (going round a tight roundabout, doing a 180 turn down the road), doesn't ever do it in car parks etc. Not talking ridiculous speeds, just fairly ordinary driving maneuver speeds.
Perhaps lowering it will help? I suspect the problem is due to the suspension having too much of a "range". Does this sound at all feasible or am I just talking rubbish?

maybe some duff bushes on the front suspension somewhere deflecting under load? Might just be enough to make it rub. Would probably explain some of the random understeer too.

Duff bushes, eh? Certainly worth a look when the suspension is "tinkered with", thanks! Nothing a blowtorch an angle grinder and a rubber hammer won't sort out I'm sure ;D Watch it, you!! This is an executive saloon we're talking about, not some old beige heap!

Just ignore it! Thats what i'd do, repair it after the wishbone snaps at 70mph on the coast road.

It'll be the door handles scraping the road due to the excessive suspension height and comedy cornering lean ;D You know what to do to cure that Or, as the front wheels stick out further than the others, it could be coming into contact with the front edge of the arch on full lock. Get it on full lock and get your head up inside the arch Lowering should sort this too as it'll move the arch closer to the floor and away from the tyre, if you see what i mean?

Rubbing problem seems to have solved itself, so I have placed it on the "ignore" list. Fantastic! So, I won me a set of Pioneer TS-X7s (not actual pic): And my saggy driver seat is now solved with the use of beads: Will change the thermostat tomorrow. Yeah yeah the suspension is to come, don't worry, it won't take as long as it is the Charmant.

I got the wheels off Mike from here! They're nice, but I reckon I need more dish so I'm looking for some 13x8s for the back and I'll transfer the 13x7s onto the front. If I can't find any I might plump for 14x7/14x8 instead, we'll see how it goes! It'll do for now.

Galant is back in use as my daily driver, yesterday I took the Bilbos off and fitted the Equips off the Charmant instead: Fits the arches more nicely, think I'll import some wider rears though! The Equips were nice on the Charmant, but they were never to be its final look. Stay tuned on that. In the meantime it'll be standard so I can run around in it occasionally and keep it running good. What of the Bilbo wheels though? Wait and see!
