Hi all , new to this forum, but recognise quite a few of the user names already ;D . Well it eventually my time to get my car finished, been on going now for over 2 years, but work commitments have slowed it down a tad. Gave me time to source everything I need though to make it like new again. its a 1973 Viva estate, quite rare particuliarly in solid condition, and a mere 40k miles from new. Whats the twist I hear you ask? basically a full body makeover, using an original DTV Old Nail kit, (i like to be a bit different!) a few trick body mods here and there, and most likely painted in House Of Kolor kandy apple red. running gear WAS ready to go in until my sons HB needed a transplant , new stuff now sourced and getting ready for the instal soon. I'll get some pics up later. Andy.

Some pics. in the beginning!,straight from a barn in Swadlincote after 10 years of 'hiding' phase 1, with superlites phase 2, off with the old panels phase 3, on with the new phase 5, minilites too small!!!, time for some 10" rims Ive got a fair bit further on now since the last picture, but you can see where its going. I'll get some more up later. Added some pics of my other Vauxhalls

Excellent stuff mate, hope you have a serious motor lined up for the estate... Cheers mate, DID have a half race 1740 x flow for it but it ended up in the sons HB . Got some Manta running gear coming so, I'll run it over the winter etc on that and look for a C20LET maybe for next year. The hardest part is getting an axle to take any huge power as alternatives are not the easiest to find without major surgery.

Oh, i like that a lot!!! The estates are great looking moshines, i love what you're doing with it - the wide wheels look the business. Where did the minilites go??

A friend of mine had a Firenza Droop Snoot? one of these many years ago. It was mint, but the old nail kit makes it look even meaner. Move over yet again the Mk 2 Escort. The rest of your fleet certainly set the bar pretty high so I shall be bookmarking this thread!!!

I'm running a HPF axle , so I ll wait and see how that goes before any surgery, or try and find a slipper.(fat chance!) Appreciate all the comments but i have a 'secret weapon', in the form of a 10yr old petrol head!... ;D . this was his weekends work on the viva, He marked out the bonnet, (i cut it), I tack welded the new RS Turbo vents in, and he stitch welded them. He glassed and filled them(and done most of the sanding). Sanded and cleaned all the floor pans and Zinc primed Not to shoddy for a 10 yr old!. Hes already quite handy with a paint gun too , pics of Marks work from the weekend

I'll look into the tr7 thing ,cheers
