Bike carbs! should be plenty of room without moving the servo Thought about that option, but don't have a clue where to start !. Anything to do with bodywork /modifications, yeh no problem, but never been down the bike carbs road yet! What carbs ? , what manifold ?, how to set them up,do you need to rejet them etc etc. It would certainly LOOK the business, but I don't know where to start. I can get access to all sorts of bike bits ,and if anyone can help with a "shopping list" of what I need it would be great! Any help or advice appreciated .

Lets clear up car terms: "Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. "Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car. "Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence. "Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

hi, not trying to sound dumb but why did you need to cut the wind tunnel for the starter motor? I'm doing a similar project but have' nt got to the gearbox fitting stage.

hi, not trying to sound dumb but why did you need to cut the wind tunnel for the starter motor? I'm doing a similar project but have' nt got to the gearbox fitting stage. It was a combination of things that I just couldnt get round without cutting the tunnel, believe me I tried!. I needed to get the engine as far back as possible in the engine bay without cutting the heater out and bulkhead, (the shell is too good to totally bastardise !) and I wanted it to look as factory as possible. With the sump centred and sitting as low as possible without hitting the crossmember(about 15mm clearance), the angle of the engine had to be raised from the rear to get it level, The Manta starter is pretty big and was rubbing on the column, so I had to raise the whole engine/box assembly another 7mm to get clearance this then made the box rub on the gear tunnel, so I had to slice off the top of the gear tunnel and add in a filler plate ,its hardly noticeable and once the carpets are back in, wont be seen at all!. Suppose I could have added u/j to the steering column as an alternative but took the easy way out. The other issues I now have are : relocate the servo as it hits the inlet manifold (fitting a Mini remote), and Ive got a Webber conversion in the post!. All in it "looks" pretty factory under the bonnet now, but I dare say I'll find something else to delay me!. I'll post upsome pics when the camera batteries are recharged

Been busy and not had a chance for any updates for a while, so heres the state of play for now. new engine test fitted and all the mods done, back out for its rebuild just now. Eventually got all the bodywork finished and I'm 'reasonably' happy with it, any rework etc can get done next winter, I'm not putting the car off the road for another summer, its going out to play this year ;D Also got a fibreglass dash manufactured so the display options are mine now , so a few guages to be fitted and colour coded . Some progress pics. new fibreglass dash top with some guages fitted post colour coding engine in place Back to the bodywork front end with RS turbo vents grafted in Some primer ! MORE PRIMER !!!!!!!!! AT LAST.........................................COLOUR !!!!! ;D ;D ;D Eventually decided to go with a pearl rather than Kandy, easier maintenance, new colour is Monogram Nightfire pearl 2 Start the polishing! I'll add more as I get time to polish and build it up some . All comments welcome Andy

Keep trying to explain to people that £360 is a lot of money for a set of tyres that are curse word in the wet and last about 2000 miles when they say that £200 is too much for my 235/50s which are proper road tyres.
