I bought this in september last year, i was actually looking for an integrale evo to replace my 16v, but this car came up at the right price at the right time. i have known the person i bought it off for several years and managed to strike a deal we were both happy with.
Like the integrale, this is one of THE cars that got me interested in cars in the first place, dominating touring car racing just as i was starting to notice motorsport on television.
the car was fairly standard other than a supersprint exhaust and decat and a momo steering wheel, plus a set of 8 and 9x16 BBS RS ( a standard factory poption i'm led to believe)
on a whim i decided to buy a fibreglass copy of the m3 sport evolution adjustable rear wing, adjusted to it's furthest position of course...
then i was faced with needing a set of new tyres, and a set of wheels that really could do with a refurb. i decided to change the wheels for a set of 17in BBS made bmw style 5s. i couldnt find any in the uk so ordered them from someone in germany who regularly refurbed sets, and built me a set to my spec. 8x17 et20 fronts, and 9x17 et 22 rears, with polished outer rims, nogaro silver centres (as per sport evo standard wheels) and finished with a set of stainless steel bolts.
imho, the 17s are the perfect size for the car
i then put in some black leather recar copy seats which i had had fitted in the lancia, but had never got around to getting the rest of the interior retrimmed to match. as the m3 had black leather already i decided the seats would look better in it!
some clear front and side indicators got added somewhere along the line, and other than cleaning it fairly often and driving it lots, not much else was done for a good few months, so have some random photos...
by july the wheels wer looking past their best, and as i needed some new rear tyres i swapped back to the old wheels and decided on a diy refurb.
i decided i would paint the centres in a more brakedust friendly metallic black, a colour i was going to go for when i bought the wheels, but chickened out at the last minute, and after seeing them now, i wish i had gone darker in the first place!
and here we have the latest pics, taken last week...
