Ch-ch-ch-ch-check it aaaaaaaout! I've always harboured sneaky secret desires for one of these. I'd never driven one, and tbh expected to be thoroughly put off. However after wafting back up the A1 this morning in the big squashy seat and the heather-mills-o-matic box doing it's thang, I think I am in love! Handling is comedic, with full on tyre-squeal at about 15mph, but everything is just relaxed. Makes you wanna drive like an old giffer. Now, where's my pipe!? On, all the time. Hurrah. Grr! OMG! Towbar!! Tat-towing-tastic!! Smart. Not quite so smart this side. Tesco car park scar & missing trim. OOOOF! Schlafzimmer! Poglet Maximus makes an apprasial of the captains' quarters. Just run in. Oh, and full service history from new. Delish. Jobs to do: Infestigate why the windows don't work. All of them so probz a fuse. Infestigate the odd squeaking noise from the dashboard. I suspect mice! More cleaning. Then employ as OFFICIAL POG TAT WAGON. ROCK AND ROLL.

Yes it's blue cloth / cord trim, pretty much standard fare on old Volvo Wagons I think - my dad's 760T had the same trim. It's cleaner now than when I picked it up ;D it had been half-parked in a hedge for some time and was covered in black grime and green lichen. The owner had inherited it from his father in law, but didn't really like it so it didn't get used. How much did it cost? The best price = £0

Nice! Try resoldering the joints on the relays to get the windows working again, worth a go to start with as it's a no cost repair. Also good for fuel pump releys

240's can have probs due to water in the rear of the fuse panel in the passenger footwell. Check and clean all of the connection and fuse holders in there.

Excellent load lugger! What's the tailgate like? Think it must be a bit of a rot hot-spot as i've seen loads of estates with rotted out tailgates, including my dads old one which was a spit for yours, same colour, interior and everything!

funny innit, that years ago the pre-requisite for having one of these was to own green wellies and a golden labrador and be an old git......wearin' a cravat and smokin' a pipe was also par for the course, and that was just the women... ;D But now you can be young dumb and full of..errr, fun!!! and tease the ride height down, add some ICE and be the coolest cookie in the town car park amongst the same ole samey cars there.. i like these a lot

Nice barge I find the 940 makes me drive slow too, unless its on boost ;D The tailgates on late models (like this) don't tend to rust out anywhere near as much - the rear screen and seal is different.

Yeah, just gotta take it back after lunch to show them the new cap and they'll write the ticket, no extra charge.

Looks very nice! Is it as rust-free as it looks and what engine - 2.0 or 2.3? Also is the auto box one of Volvo's strange ones with an o/d on top gear? Getting tempted by a late rwd Volvo wagon so that I can take the Amazon off the road for a thorough de-rusting...

To answer your questions: Yes, 2.0, Yes (in that order) Anyway, the beast now has a ticket. Joyfold. Total cost so far... £45 MoT fee. Rocking.
